18 THURSDAY - APRIL 1974
108TH DAY - 257 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. a duplicate of the 3/19 letter from Lewis Pulsipher with
a note that he hasn't heard from me.
Called Howard Wexler and told him that I was still not com-
pletely up to par and that I had a large back-log of work to catch
up on. Since he doesn't have anything particularly hot, I'll
contact him about getting together in two or three weeks.
I told him that I was looking forward to reviewing his
CONNECT FOUR. He said that M.B. [Milton Bradley] had originally seen this as
a slowly-building staple, but their reaction at Toy Fair was
so good that they are considering TV.
I asked if he had anything else that I would be inter-
ested in reviewing. He said that Parker has something due
to be introduced Aug. 1st, but he can't say anything about
it now.
Wrote to Tom Atwater. Sent "Capital Gains" Tax info. Mentioned
SPIPPED DISC, Bob Johnson, TRANSFORMATION, Mary Hilt,
HIT THE JACKPOT, and "Almanic Researchers."
Wrote to Lewis Pulsipher. Sent check for $4 for back numbers of and
subscription to SUPERNOVA.

So far the p&p line is moving much better than they expected.
Don't do any more solitaires for p&p until I hear from him.
The subject of mass marketing came up and he said that they
will allow discounting on the Gamettes and the Sports line, [illegible strikeout]
to see how it works out. However, they will keep the price on
Bookshelf. I mentioned that I didn't have copies of CHALLENGE GOLF
and CHALLENGE FOOTBALL. He'll send me copies.
Keith, I believe, brought up the matter of TORUS and SKYSCRAPERS.
I told him what I told Kathy. He'll look at TORUS in Mag-Nif's
display and suggested that I call him at his hotel about it. I
thought it bett easier for him to call me. He said he would (but didn't).
He thought of using SKYSCRAPERS for a line of "giant" styro-
form puzzles, but the retail would have to be at least $10.00.
Another new line they are considering is magnetic games.
They already have 4 for it and others are coming in.
He'd like to go to 200 5th to look at the showrooms (apparently
he didn't go on Monday). I told him that they are normally very
slow except at Toy Fair. He is curious about Kontrell and I
told him of their line of standards in imitation Bookshelf.
Carol Peterson is taking Kathy Brooks position as head of
game development. (What about Kathy?)
Keith said that Austin is interested in selling out. I believe
that Keith (altho it might have been someone else) said that
he had been approached by the head of the Gamekeeps about
3M taking over their line. According to him he was given
