14 SUNDAY - APRIL 1974
EASTER DAY - 104TH DAY - 261 DAYS TO COME

Went thru all the boxes in the basement to review what I had there.

Played a little of HEX-MATCH solitaire myself. With 5 open pcs. it is
fairly easy. I'll have to try it with 4.

Brought the Horn's a copy of TRIPPPLES. Played a game with
Laurie - with Dave helping her.

Played 4-hand HEX-MATCH and Barbara said she liked it at least as
much as SHAPE AND SHATTER.

Showed EVEN WORSE to Dave. He worked on it for awhile, but didn't
get it.

I had to cut the meeting short to miss the rush hour.
Tom will probably come to visit tomorrow morning.
Before meeting Tom I went to the following:
- Shirt Pocket Games. Only standards.
- Golden's. Among others had PAIR UP - PEEL OFF, DOWN THE HATCH,
FANTASY - "A game for Heads", GUZZLE, SIP & STRIP, and
BOTTOMS UP. This is a college graduation race. Move by dice. Also
answer questions, and "requests"" from the other players. (Very rough idea.)
- International Games. Spoke to Ed Akeman and he said that UNO
was selling well. I took a duplicate copy of UNO. I asked for
a glossy and he asked for a tear sheet. List price - $4.00.
- April House. The new names for the Sports Illustrated games
are PAYDIRT! (Football), BOWL BOUND (Football), GO FOR THE GREEN!
(Golf), PENNANT RACE and TRACK MEET.
- Un-Com'mon Games. Spoke to Alice McElhone again. She said
that someday she'd love to handle some of my games. I said
I'd love it too.
She is now handling CHALLENGE CONQUEST and the price is now $6.95
list. I asked about a glossy and she'll bug him for one.
She gave me a copy of SKIP-BO. The inventor claims that
100,000 have been sold already.

Irving Kessoff is the new game buyer at Brentanos and
Bert Holtzman will take over Dorothy Shapiro's job.
She says that some games will be shown at the "American
Bookseller's Convention" in Washington. She'll keep an eye open for
things of interest to me.
- Roylon. The fellow there was not empowered to give me review copies
but let me look at the display. The company is now located at
226 Fifth Ave., New York, N.Y. 10001. DEAL-A-TILE - Tiles with card sym-
bols. Didn't seem to be any particular rules. NUM-SKILL - this is the
same as MATTIX. TAKE ALL, SPELL BOUND, ON GUARD, STACK-UP. The
above are all Or-Da games and I have info on them. CROSS WISE
has the Roylon name. There is a large x'word layout in plastic. 2 play
and each has a book of definitions and tries to fill in as many
as possible spaces with pencil of his color.
- Game Capers. Showed EVEN WORSE and he remeCarl Eisenberg re-
