APRIL 1974 - SATURDAY 13
HOLY SATURDAY - 103RD DAY - 262 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. [received] letter from Haar Hoolim. He is sending me the three German games - CONTACTIC, TOPOLOGIK, SPECTRUM. Mentions Robert Abbott, TAKE THE BRAIN, PLOY, ARMOR. Gives ideas for a CHESS variations. Mentioned CHECKERS, STACK-UP, UP, 7-UP, DAFT DRAUGHTS, G&P, DIPLOMACY, Lech Pijanowski, TURNOVER PUZZLE, CROSSOVER PUZZLE.
Rcd. [received] a copy of Bob Abbott's letter to Tony Mills. Mentions ABBOTT'S NEW CARD GAMES, AGOG, and EPAMINONDAS & CROSSINGS.

BB's Aunt Flo's boyfriend Tom said that he saw a mention in the New York TIMES book review section - first Sunday in March - about a game museum library to be set up by Parker Bros. [Brothers] in Salem. He may still have it - if so he'll send it.
Gave Tom a copy of S&T #43 with the game THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR, also a die.

Called Claude to wish him a happy holiday. He still hasn't heard from Mitch Reid.

Brought a copy of AMERICAN REVOLUTION to Harold Saperstein. Played 4-hand INTERSECTION and then HEX-MATCH, also 4-hand. Divided the 27 pcs. with the last to play getting 6 instead of 7. When a player goes out the others score 1 point against for each remaining pc. [piece] Play 4 rounds. The first to play can put [illegible strikeout] the pc. [piece] in any space he wishes.
Later thought of an idea for HEX-MATCH solitaire. The first pc. [piece] is put in the center. Then a certain number are turned face up. If none of these will match two rings of the first, they are turned face down and another group turned up. After the first match, each match must be at least 3 rings - with no reward for more than three. After each match a new pc. [piece] is turned. Win if all 27 are played.

minded [reminded] me that he had seen it when he was with Reiss - and didn't like it then. He is only interested in additions to the ELECTRO line. He gave me copies of the two of them (no. 1 & 2), but said that he might have to ask for them back. He also gave me a copy of BEAT THE COMPUTER (No. 600). He wants the wire puzzles ASAP. // He had NINE OF SWORDS - but no royalties for me.
