2 TUESDAY - APRIL 1974
92ND DAY - 273 DAYS TO COME

Working on SKYSCRAPERS most of the day. Came up with a new set-up of 8 pcs. [pieces] and 5 molds. Looking for solutions allowing more than two squares of the same size to be next to each other. Found only 4, and three were quite similar.

Call from Mike Starr, a write for the WALL ST. JOURNAL, working from Chicago. He is trying to look into the possibility of a piece on inventors of adult games. He got my name from 3M. He asked me questions on how I invent games, how much money there is in games, etc. He also asked me who to talk to at various companies. Suggested Bill Dohrmann at Parker, Dick Harris or Mel Taft at M.B. [Milton Bradley], and Tom Shaw at A.H. [Avalon Hill] He asked for other inventors and I gave him telephone numbers for Claude Soucie, Wald Amberstone, Bob Abbott, Jerry D'Arey, and Frank Thibault (who 3M told him about).
I asked if he could let me know when the article runs. He said that there may not even be an article. But if there is, he is speaking to over 30 people and can't contact them all.

Called Julie Clardy. Told her that I rcd. the revised 1099 form and thanked her. Told her that the address is still wrong. Told her that Claude did not receive a 1099 form for DUEL. Since it was under $500 she said he probably won't be getting one.
She said I should that call her anytime I have a problem with royalties - collect. I checked on her address in case there is no hurry and I can write.

Claude and the others were busy talking about the situation and Claude couldn't meet me. Made tentative date with Anne for 4/18.
