MARCH 1974 - THURSDAY 28
87TH DAY - 278 DAYS TO COME

Bob Champer here. Played the three MACARTHUR scenarios. "Korea" was a draw. As the allies I had an easy win in "New Guinea." Again as the allies I won a very close one in "Bataan."
Decided that Bob would write the historical comment for his two scenarios and I would do mine.
Bob, in his duties involving placing ads for "Liberator Games" (see 2/25), has rcd. [received] copies of PANZERFAUST. One of them has a very flattering review of PATTON. He'll bring it next Thurs. [Thursday] when he come to finish up the work on MACARTHUR.
Told him about the ALBION review, but he was in a hurry and will look at it next Thursday.

Call from Felicia. She was going tomorrow to the company lawyer to set up a succession in case of her death. He wanted a sample contract and she intended to bring DIGIT since she thought that I also had one. I did.
She still thinks that Harold Frankel will convince Greenberg to do POP-SHARE-AND SHATTER.
She hasn't heard from Schaper about 3D BOXES (or SPACE BOXES). She intends to call Jim Rockwell next week.

Call from Julie Clardy (telephone number 816-274-5737). She was looking into my 1099 form and agreed that it was $375 too high. She will have a revised form sent to me.
I suggested that possibly Claude Soucie's $375 payment for DUEL was put on my 1099 form. She was thinking of checking with Felicia whether Claude rcd. [received] a 1099 form but I said that it would be easier for me to check with him. She asked me to call her person-to-person collect after I speak to him.

Bob Champer said that there are 7 GAMES in progress by "Liberator Games." He'll see that I get copies when ready. I offered to pay, but Bob refused.

Called Claude and he called me back. He spoke to Mitch Reid of HASBRO. Earl went with him. The offer this time is $5000 per game but they want all of us to collaborate on each game, and divide the money. He seemed to indicate that the first $5000 would be coming almost at once.
They are interested in two themes to start with: A real estate GAME with developing of property, financing, leasing, etc.; and a GAME based on cartels.
Incidentally, I think that Wald was also there. Reid wants me join them, but the deal will still be on even if I don't - and the money will only have to be split three ways.
I told Claude that I didn't think that I'd come in. Accepting deals like this in the long run is self defeating. Also in my particular case the games would be competitive with ACQUIRE. And if I went in and 3M found out about it I'd lose
