MARCH 1974 - FRIDAY 22
81ST DAY - 284 DAYS TO COME

Call from Felicia. She had a long talk with Bob Johnson.
Jim Goldsberry has moved up (out of games?) and Bob has
taken over his position. Burt Huber has also been moved out
of the game program, into production - a field he is more familiar with.
According to our HONORABLE RELATIONS contract it is supposed to be
published in 1974. Felicia told Bob she'd give him until Jan. '75
and would ask for more holding money if it is not done by then.
Bob hopes to give us an answer on SPECTRUM soon.
The 6 games they are currently doing - FITTING & PROPER, etc. -
will continue. They are looking into lowering the price and to
doing some advertising.
They will not be at the Stationary Show but will have a
big display at the Hallmark Gallery.
She called Keith Tuggle and he called her back as soon as he
got out of a conference. He told her that they have a new policy -
any new games they take will only pay royalties for 10 years.
After that the game belongs to them. Felicia said that
we might go along with that for p&p games, but not for
Bookshelf.
The royalties for p&p he told her were 3%, dropping to
2% after 5 years.
Hopefully he'll give us an answer on FOREIGN INTRIGUE by
Stationary Show. If we don't place it with 3M Felicia wants
to try Parker. She found the Randolph Barton interview
in TOYS quite encouraging. (Why?)
Incidentally - in her talk with Bob Johnson, he said it was
not a question if, but when he comes to New York to go
over the game program with us. He'll try to give us two
weeks notice.
I read Kathy Brooks letter about BAZAAR and SLEUTH to
Felicia. Also told her about the error in the Hallmark
1099 form - just to keep her posted.

Finally BB typed the letter on ZZIZZ (see 3/9) and I
mailed it.

Downtown to R.G.I. Went over the boards for MACARTHUR and
found a number of things that Rick had wrong. Pointed
them out to him and he'll take care of them. Last night I
checked the cities against maps and found a few things
myself which I also gave to Rick.
The buyer for F.A.O. Schwarz was there just hanging around
and Bob Gellman sent down for lunch for him and for me. (Rick
declined.) The buyer said that F.A.O. Schwarz may be
handling ANTI-MONOPOLY. There is a question whether Parker
will raise legal objections to the name.

Bob told me that he is having the R.G.I. games listed in
"The Catalog for College Stores." Looked through a copy he had
there and 3M, Kontrell, Wff 'N Proof, and a few other game
companies were included.
