Green said that he is not in production yet. Took my card and
will send me a review copy. Told him about Roger Verhust.
- Synestructics. Spoke to Peter Pearce and Michael Bank. Took a new
folder with a new price list. NETRESULTS is now $8.00. Told
them that their collating of GREATSHAPES was faulty. (Iha checked
the copy bank gave me and pcs. were missing.) They said that they
are getting a new process to take care of it. // Took 5 "connectors" for NETRESULTS.
- Un-com'mon Games. Spoke to Alice McElhone and Tom Beck
who was also there.
One of them (can't remember which) told me that a buyer for
a chain of stores in the west called "Games People Play" said that
he was returning to conduct an ACQUIRE tournament in the stores.
Actually the stores from Kansas City to the west.
Alice said that the two women who did OPTILE also did
THE OLD SHELL GAME and have placed something with Parker.
She was not getting along very well with the people at Aladdin
and went there today on a peace mission. They told her that
they have orders for 10,000 dozen - but she think they may be
exaggerating a little. They want more games to add to the line.
The nice one to contact there is James Kelso.
Dorothy Shapiro was the one who sold Aladdin on TRIPPPLES.
Took a sheet on "Family Pastimes" from an ethical commun-
ity in Canada. Mentions COMMUNITY, FAMILY, and ZEN BLOCKS.
Alice said that they are not really games in my context.
Looked shortly at ZEN BLOCKS and it seemed a fairly usual
block puzzle. One cube and a number of two cube units are
put together with the aim of getting as many "moons" on the
outside. (Very rough idea.)
Alice gave me a copy of DODECA BASEBALL GAME for my collection.
Don't know exactly what her relation with the manufacturer is, but
she said they are interested in other games using dodecahedrons,
since they have a mold. They already have a math and a
word GAME. I said I'd like to try to come up with some
other GAMEs and she said she'd send me a dozen dodecahedrons
so that I can paste new markings on the faces. She said that they
would particularly like a BASKETBALL game but I said that I wasn't
that much into sports games.
Tom Beck said that they were still discussing GALAXY GAZER with
