FEBRUARY 1974 - SATURDAY 16
47TH DAY - 318 DAYS TO COME
Call from Phil Orbanes. He said to go ahead and talk to
3M about the p&p games. I told him that since 3M
does not include any dice, etc. most of the games will
still be available for Hoi Polloi. Phil said that Manny may
still do another set later in the year and he'll still turn to
us even if we deal with 3M.
He got a very long call from Carl Eisenberg. Carl says that even
tho he is now in the Bronx working directly for National
Paragon, he'll still have a lot of say on the games and puzzles.
I asked how I should make out the 10% check on me
royalties. To I-Q.
He told me about the game project that David Isby and
Al Zygler are involved in, with Phil - through "Gamut" -
serving as a consultant. They call themselves "Rand Games"
and plan to put out 9 simulation games in a year. Sales will
be by subscription only ($17.76 a year). A slip case will
be included to hold the 9 games with drawers for keeping
the equipment. The first game is LEE VS, MEADE.
Working on a new set of assignment cards for FOREIGN INTRIGUE.
Played THE BRAIN GAME with the Sapersteins.
POST had following small piece:- From THE GAMES THE INDIANS PLAYED
by Sigmund A. Lavine (Dodd, Mead, $4.25). Because of their sup-
posed divine origin, games were played originally by the Indians
only to bring rain, insure rich harvests, cure illness, expel evil
spirits, or to give pleasure to the gods.

William F. Tyndall about buying a copy of AGOG. Letter from
Michael H. Krasik inquiring about a game WHO DID IT?
Found it in PLAYTHINGS guide for 1961. Letter from "Adult
Games Co." with several questions.
Spoke to Jim Dunnigan about the two French games. They were done
by the fellow who wants to translate their war games. He'd like to keep
them around for a while the negotiations are going on but will give
to me after. OBJECTIF EPARGNE was done for a bank. FAMILION is
based on a TV program. Said I'd return them next week.
Jim said that he hears that Bob Champer is involved in a
competing venture doing a series of wargames called, I believe, "Liberator."
Felicia had given me a card from Ronald H. McKinney, of
