To S.P.I. In Jim's office there were copies of two French games left there by someone who is negotiating to put out the S.P.I. games in France. OBJECTIF EPARGNE and FAMILION. Ran off repros [reproductions] of the rules but then got Redmund's permission to take them home until I talk to Jim (who is taking a course this week). Also got Redmund's o.k. to bring in my S&T column on 2/25.
From Sal got two copies of #42, one of #40, and one of #38. Ran off repros [reproductions] of my column in #42. Also made copy of the letter from Harold Frankel of Kohner and the material from Martin Gardner on ZIM (COGITO). // Told Sal I'd bring him a copy of PATTON.

To Toy Fair. Picked up copies of TOYS TRADE NEWS (2/13/74). Ohio Art has added some games to ETCH A SKETCH. Nothing else new. Picked up PLAYTHING PLAYTHINGS (Toy Fair Highlights). Tare out layout of the Statler-Hilton exhibits. Nothing new.
- To M.B. [Milton Bradley] Spoke to Mickie Mackay a moment. She was busy and suggested that we get together next week. (Incidentally I met her assistant Terry Monday, who thanked me for me info on [illegible strikeout] CHECKERS. - To the A.H. [Avalon Hill] showroom. Dan Greenwood and Tom Shaw will be in 2/18 and 2/19.
- To Hasbro. Got a catalog from someone whose name I didn't get. Gave him S&T #42 (I believe) and my address. He said he'd send me review copies of DOUBLE DEALER (developed from Claude's auction GAME), HIGH STAKES, and THE GREAT ESTATE. The one to contact at Hasbro is Mich Mitchel Reed, Associate Director of Marketing.
- To Craft Master (actually before Hasbro). George Marlowe showed me the

who left engineering 3 years ago to become a free lance game designer (mechanical engineering).
This year he has TILT with Lakeside and BLAST with Ideal, which is a redo of one he had previously with Ideal. Exchanged cards. (Had some lunch.)

Gave him copy of S&T (#40 I believe). He'll send me copies of PURSUIT and SHIFTYCHECKERS. Also ODDS MAKER POKER-DICE, the only new things of possible interest this year. (Had some more lunch.)
- Pressman. List TRI-OMINOS, DOUBLE DECKER and standards.
- Ray Larsen - rep [representative] for "Electronic Data Controls Corp." - oly only new game is COMPUTER HORSERACING - and "Alabe." Looked at REWORD. There is a deck of cards (54 I believe) with different letters on the 2 sides (see catalog) and a few "wild." First The cards are dealt out to the players. The first four plays are in turn placing letters in 4 compartments to form a 4-letter word. After this players place cards as fast as they can to cover an existing letter and form a new word. All letters are face up and an opponents letter can be used - to prepare to use one of your letters. First to play out wins. In case of an impasse there is a provision for removing some cards. Can also be played with 5-letter
