FEBRUARY 1974 - TUESDAY 12
ABRAHAM LINCOLN BORN 1809 - GEORGIA DAY - 43RD DAY - 322 DAYS TO COME
Rcd. letter from Mary Hilt. She'd like to see me during Toy Fair.
Rcd. letter from Martin Gardner. He found a letter - dated 12/3/72 -
from a J.P. Molines with a game called ZIM. It was in French
so Martin wasn't sure if it was the same as COGITO. It was.
Called Martin and he called me back later. Told him, including
some comments on forced wins in the letter. Since he didn't make
a repro I'll send the letter back to him.
Rcd. THE GENERAL (Vol. No. 5). Articles on ANZIO, LUFTWAFFE,
RICHTOFEN'S WAR, and AFRIKA KORPS.
Call from Felicia. Douglas Bolton of Cadaco is coming in tomorrow at 4.
He told Felicia that he personally likes the games I do, but he doesn't
think they are commercial. Felicia asked if she should take TAKE-A-WORD
back from Kohner to show Bolton. I said that Kohner has much better
sales than Cadaco, to the best of my knowledge. She agreed. I suggested
showing TRAVELINE and she agreed. I have it at home and will
bring it tomorrow. We also decided that I'd bring TOTALLY-- and
we'll show PUSHOVER, the one she has there.
She went to see Hasbro with some non-game items. The fellow in
charge of games will be in N.Y. in about 2 weeks.
She has an appointment with Kontrell (I think that's what she said).
I mentioned seeing their games at Job Lot, marked way down.
Felicia offered to take BB and me for supper at a fancy restaurant.
BB said no and in a later call I told Felicia that I'd just as soon
go to a simpler place. We'll see how it works out.
2nd call from Felicia. She wanted the name of Chuck Titus'
game -- PSYCHE-PATHS.
Went thru the Toy Fair Directory and the material I picked up
yesterday. Prepared a list of places to visit.
Sent air letter to Graeme Levin telling him that I have ESCAPE FROM COLDITZ CASTLE.

a tray with 13 slots for placing cards face up. A battery
operated light flashes around the circle. Players in turn
push a button to stop the light and take the card at which
it stops. Play different card games. (For review samples I

- S&R. Gave Mr. Tobias repro of my column with COOKS TOURS
and WHODUNIT. Took a spare catalog.
- Parker. Spoke to Randy Barton and he showed me THE INVENTORS,
PRO DRAFT, and TUGBOAT. I asked how GRAPPLE, FLUSTER, and
BOGGLE were doing. Fair. I asked about the museum and they are
now considering using part of their existing building as a museum
