Returned the Ideal reservation card to <u>Zeke Rose</u>, saying I'd be there
2/19 in the morning.
Call from <u>Martin Gardner</u>. He rcd. a box, without a letter, with a
French game called <u>COGITO</u> (put out by Bass et Bass). It is a
<u>DOMINOES</u> type game and Martin just did a column on something that
may be similar. He'll send me a repro [reproduction] of the rules, also a
repro [reproduction] of the Feb '74 [February 1974] ''<u>SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN</u>''. After I translate I'll
call with the info. He'll save the game for me.  <br>
Scribner's will almost certainly be doing <u>Pierre Berloquin</u>'s
3 puzzle books. Martin doesn't want me to be bothered editing it
Instead he'll get $500.00 for an introduction and for reading the
manuscript after it is <s>publ</s> edited. Pierre will get $700.00
for doing the translation and whatever royalty arrangement he has
with the French publisher.  <br>
Martin asked if I had heard from <u>Cirker</u>. Told him of his call.
Went over the sample game in the <u>CRESCENDO CHESS</u> rules.
Rcd. [received] a call from <u>Bob Champer</u> and set date for next Wednesday
to try and finalize <u>MACARTHUR</u>.

Earl mentioned to Claude that he'd like to meet Felicia.
Claude would also like to introduce <u>Earl</u> to <u>Howard Wexler</u>
sometime later. Claude will be showing Wexler things this
Thurs. [Thursday] Claude thinks that Wexler is hungry for games.
Call from <u>Jerry D'Arcey</u>. Classic Games was interested in <u>MONOLITH</u>.
<u>Stan Harfenist</u> said not to show the new <u>SWEEP</u> to anyone. It is their
game for '75 [1975]. Not interested in anything else. No one was interested in
<u>FILLERUP</u>. He may do it himself. He sent a box of the leftovers to <u>Bill Dohrmann</u>.
Told him my pending - including Kohner.
