JANUARY 1974 - TUESDAY 29
29TH DAY - 336 DAYS TO COME
Call from Felicia. Harold Frankel of Kohner called her. He
apologized for not getting back to her, becaude of a death
in the family. He set up a date for her and me to come there
on 2/11 at 10:30 with POP-SHAPE-AND SHATTER, PAIR OFF,
OVER 'N OVER, and Claude's ECLIPSE.
She still hasn't heard from Alan Newman but expects
that she will.
Rcd. NOST-ALGIA #165. Ad for SEMI-CIRCLE CHESS again.
Phil Cohen lists some GO variants: GO CORNER GAME,
FREESTYLE GO CORNER GAME, FREESTYLE GO LIFE GAME (FGLG),
HWAJOM PADUK. Also an ALICE CHESS notated game. And
a variation called MS. ALICE CHESS.
Ralph Betza went over CONVERSATION CHESS again.
Rcd. letter from Robert E. Horn asking for a review copy
of AGOG. Offers me a complimentary copy of the 2nd edition of
THE GUIDE TO SIMULATIONS/GAMES FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
Would like me to do reviews or to be a guest editor on the
next edition. Also enclosed an ad sheet.
Called Claude and told him to have ECLIPSE ready for 2/11.
He'd also like to present DIABOLIQUE - just the puzzles.
Made date to go there Friday.
Call from Earl. He is moving out at the end of this week to
an apartment in Manhattan of a family in Florida for the winter.
Set up a NYGA meeting there for 2/8.
{Earl Perel
[Address and phone omitted for privacy]
Earl saw the 3M sport games and
the Springbok puzzle-games in an
east-side store for $1.00 off.
He is annoyed at Al Richter for not finishing the model for
DON'T BLOW A FUSE. I told him that I tried to push Al last
Saturday, but Earl will have to get after Al himself, and take it back
if Al can't find the time to work on it.
Earl has made his old "Zodiac" game into a gambling game he
calls STAR TRACK. He is interested in having Felicia agent it.
I'll look at it at the N.Y.G.A. meeting.
(cont. from 1/31) [2/1]
inating the 1 pt. for killing a suspect, giving an extra
question instead.
Played 5-hand THE BRAIN GAME, including Raymond. Started using
a set of cards allowing trading, etc. - a player drawing
one at the end of each turn. (Drew them up in a hurry
this aft.) Didn't work at all and dropped it. Used a new
idea for a red 6 which was good. Didn't use the special end
portion rule (see 1/26) since the Soucies are great at bargaining.
