28 MONDAY - JANUARY 1974
28TH DAY - 337 DAYS TO COME

Call from Felicia. Stan Harfenist actually called her back
after a call to him. He didn't get a chance to play
SPACE (3D BOXES) with George Delaney on his recent visit.
Delaney will be in New York on 2/7 and 2/8. They will
play the game with Karen (who is a game buff) and give
Felicia a decision after then.
I mentioned that I was coming along nicely on MACARTHUR.
Felicia mentioned that Bob Gellman was sending her a lot
of inventors, most of them kooks.
One was the inventor of ZIRIYA (see PLAYTHINGS of
Nov. 1973) was there with his lawyer. He said that Dick
Harris
was just about ready to give him a contract when
Mel Taft said no. She'll try to see if she can do anything
with it.
Her part of 4th quarter HIGH BID royalty will was about
$100. 3M won't release it until all their stock is gone.
Kathy Brooks called again to say that the holdup on our
foreign royalties was because they have switched from
an Italian to a German manufacturer. //Kathy seemed sur-
prised when Felicia mentioned that she'd see Keith at
Toy Fait. She said she's show him SHAPE & SHATTER then.
The reason Felicia had called BB about Alan Newman's p&p
games - AMAZING, etc. - was because 3M now wants each one
listed by name on a separate disclosure form.
I mentioned her visit this coming Wednesday. Alan Newman
hasn't called her yet, but she is sure he will.
She has a moderately interesting word GAME (no name yet)
that a client has left. She may bring it Wednesday.

Deposited the REALM check in checking account.

Called Clyde Peters (see 1/23). Told him that Phil Orbanes
would be glad to consult with him concerning the Scarne games
marketing, at Stackpole if desired but preferably in N.Y.
Peters took Phil address and telephone number and will contact
him.
I again mentioned that I hoped that someday the[y]'ll be expanding their
line and looking at some of my games. He said he hopes so too.
Peters asked if I had rcd. the games yet, since he had sent them
right out. No - but they came later in the day:- SKARNEY,
SCARNEY, SCARNEY DICE, TEEKO, SCARNEY 3000, FOLLOW THE ARROW
.
Saw that SCARNEY 3000 is not a part of SCARNEY DICE.

I gave Bob Lou Zocchi's address to send a review copy of PATTON.
Call from Bob Gellman. He asked how many dice would be used in
MACARTHUR since he is ordering dice for the coming year. He will make
10,000 copies. Told him 10 per game - same as PATTON.
He just rcd. a reorder from Brentano's for PATTON. They told him that
if continued selling well after x'mas. He was also told that
HOLIDAY sold out (reorder?).
After Toy Fair (I believe he said) he will send Felicia a contract
for MACARTHUR and a $200 advance. I told him that it was
coming very well; he didn't seem in a hurry for the art work, in
(cont. on 1/19)
