Call from <u>Pierre Berloquin</u>. He asked me about his status with
<u>S&T</u>. Told him that they have no record of his resubscribing.
He wants to take care of it and I told him to ask to start
with #42 and I'd send him the missing ones. Also to start
<u>MOVES</u> with #12 and I'd send him the missing ones (#10 and #11,
I believe). Said I'd wait til after X'Mas [Christmas] to send them.
<br>I thanked him for the reviews he sent me from <u>LA REVUE DU JOUET</u>.
Went over the games I thought I might be interested in. He'll send
me rules of the following: <u>KIM-BAC</u>, <u>PLEIN GAZ</u>, <u>JEU DE LA BOURSE</u>,
<u>LES FUGATIFS</u>, <u>STRINGO</u>, <u>MAGELLAN</u>. He said that <s>the others</s>
these were not worth having: <u>ORDINO CARTE</u>, <u>LE COMPTE EST BON</u>
<s>I asked him about the</s> (I asked if this was a T.V. game
and he said yes. When I looked at it later it didn't seem to
be), <u>ORDINO TRAIN</u>, <u>LES VILLAGES</u> (very boring he said). I didn't
ask him about the following but should have: <u>RALLYE CONCORDE</u>,
<u>GRAND JEU DES MOT CROISES NATHAN</u>, <u>LA CONQUÊTE DU PÉTROLE</u>,
<u>LES BLINDÉS</u>.
<br>Told Pierre that I'd appreciate if he could send me the
game reviews from <u>LA REVUE DU JOUET</u> after May '73 - the last
he sent before.
<br>I thanked him for the games he sent with Djoli.
<br>The publication of <u>SIDOMINOS</u> is still very possible, but
Laffont, the prospective publisher, won't make a decision
until the French toy fair in February is done. If they do
do it they intend to use flowers instead of numbers.
<br>He may be able to get a publisher interested in publishing
<u>AGOG</u> in France, and possibly the rest of the common market.
But it is very indefinite so far.
<br>He is angry that so far two of the puzzles in his book
have been published in <u>G&P</u>, with the exact diagram,
and without giving him credit. I suggested that he write
to <u>Graeme Levin</u> about it, he might not be aware that it is
happened. // Pierre & Annie may visit U.S.A. next spring. Invited him to stay here.
<br>There is a possibility that an Italian publisher will do a book
that combines Pierre's 4 books: <u>100 JEUX ALPHABÉTIQUES</u>,
<u>100 JEUX GÉOMÉTRIQUES</u>, <u>100 JEUX LOGIQUES</u>, <u>100 JEUX NUMÉRIQUES</u>.
<br>He wondered if Dover would be interested in doing something
similar. I suggested that the best way to go about it was
by involving <u>Martin Gardner</u>, who - I informed Pierre - liked
the puzzles, <s>from</s> having received a set. Pierre was
perfectly willing to have Martin do the translating (I
forgot that Martin doesn't know French) and split the
royalties. I'll call Martin about it and Pierre will call me
