At "Tri-Surplus, Inc." (62 Reade St.) bought 5 bags of plastic building blocks (imitation of Lego) that Claude told me about. 69¢ each and at home discovered that were about 375 pieces in a bag.
At "Alexander's Hardware Store" bought 12 magnets for 50¢.
At "Bargain City" bought 2 rolls of Lepages miracle tape for 70¢.

At "Lorry's Book Co." bought a copy of THE BOOK OF INDOOR GAMES by Stanley Pashko. At home discovered that I had it already.
Looked at a book INDOOR GAMES FOR TWO PLAYERS and took notes. At home discovered that I had it already.
Bought "New Guinea the tide is stemmed" for $1. To use for MACARTHUR.
On train reading THE STUDY OF GAMES. Rather dull as far as I went.

To Bob Gellman. Told him the three MACARTHUR battles I intend to use: "Retreat to Bataan," "New Guinea," "Landing at Inchon." Told him I'd have the game ready by the end of January, at least a first draft.
He told me approximate sales on which I will get royalties right after New Year. PATTON - 8000 @ $3.80.
HOLIDAY - 3000 @ $3.80.
He had a letter from Don Turnbull in Connection with Holiday, PATTON, and ALBION. (Strangely, Don didn't mention me.) Bob had a repro [reproduction] made for me. (Filed in Don Turnbull folder.)
He returned the INFINITY (4 pc.) board that I had loaned him. I asked Bob if he had done anything further with NOVINKA and he said he was waiting to hear from Gary Sherbell. I tried calling Gary at the work number he had given me. Not there.
Called Gary at home in the evening. Gave him Bob's number and told him to get in touch at once to arrange to show CHESS WITHOUT TEARS - OPTION CHESS.
Bob spent some time at Brentanos and sold 8 PATTON and 3 HOLIDAY.
To S.P.I. Spoke to Jim D. He asked me how I was doing with working on MACARTHUR. (How did he know?) He said that some people felt cheated when they bought PATTON. I pointed out that PANZERFAUST and ALBION were going to give it good reviews.
Jim gave me a copy of SINAI, also a copy of MOVES #11.
