Rcd. information on UNGAME.
Rcd. holiday card from Djoli Kansil. Thanked me for my S&T column
on MONTAGE, etc.
Rcd. holiday card rom Felicia.
Wrote rules for END OF THE LINE.
At bazaar in White Plains looked at, and didn't buy:
TOP HOLE - a top is spun on a board. There are walls creating
a simple maze, also holes in the center of each compartment.
Object is to hold the board in the hand and manuever the top to
as high a scoring compartment as possible.
INWORD - An M.B. game based (I am pretty sure) on a TV program.
A long word is thought of that has a small word in it. The
small word is written and dashes for the rest of the word. Play,
(I believe) is like HANGMAN but I didn't get any details.
Bought NUMERO FUN for $2. Bought $2 worth of scrap plastic-
long strips (placed in basement) and triangles. Bought a dented,
but operating, two drawer 8"x5" file cabinet for $5. (Put it on
piano upstairs.)
Put together 35 "Bekins Boxes" upstairs. Still have about 33 in
basement to be put together - if I can find room for them.
Played GROUP THERAPY with the Sapersteins, at Phyllis' suggestion.
It was rather fun.

During the day in a bookstore looked at Dover's
RECREATIONAL PROBLEMS IN GEOMETRIC DISSECTIONS & HOW TO SOLVE THEM.
Didn't buy it. Cost $2 and didn't look very interesting. (Later dis-
covered that I bought it. See 8/18.)

Called Martin Gardner. Told him about Pierre's desire to have
his puzzle books published but Dover won't pay royalties-only a small
flat sum. Scribner's however has done very well with Dudeney's
536 PUZZLES & CURIOUS PROBLEMS and THE MOSCOW PUZZLES and
has asked Martin to be on the lookout for other similar books.
Martin will contact Scribner's and get back to me. I suggested
telling Pierre to send two more sets of the books to Martin
and he thought it a good idea.
I said I'd drop by sometime to pick up PIONERSKAJA IGROTEKA
if was finished making repros. At first he thought that he (cont. on 12/7)
