Downtown about 10 and stopped in R.G.I. <u>Bob Gellman</u> told me that
he arranged with
he arranged with <u>Bill Tyler</u> to demonstrate at Brentano's for
three Wednesdays, starting this week. I told him that I had
arranged with <u>Dorothy Shapiro</u> for 12/10, 12/11, and 12/12. He asked
me to come this Wednesday at 11 and we'll straighten it out. O.K.

To <u>Felicia</u>. She had called BB to see if I were coming. BB told her
that I was; also the she rcd. [received] the royalty check <s>for</s> from Hallmark
- $1,421.50.
<br>After he was about half an hour late <u>Dick Harris</u> called to say
he was caught in traffic and would be there is [in] about an hour.

To "Gamut of Games." <u>Phil</u> was at Reiss'. Secretary called him and
I told him that I was leaving the rules for <u>TRICKY THREES</u> and
<u>RALLY</u>. (Made repros [reproductions] of the two of them.) He said that next week
would be O.K. for <u>SUPER GHOSTS</u> and <u>END OF THE LINE</u>.<br>
There was a book on his desk - <u>GAMES FOR PLANES</u>. Looked at it. Most
were standards or alphabetical pastimes. One was <u>BRENDA'S GAME</u> -
2 play (why not more?) and each writes a full alphabet at the
ends of a sheet of paper. <s>Players in turn write a word and</s>
The first player <s>then</s> writes a word in the center (limit of length?)
and crosses off the letters on his alphabet. Then new words are
added crossword style. The first to use all his letters, or the one
with the least letters when <s>the</s> no more can be used, is the
winner. (Not sure I've got it all.)<br>
Took a copy of the old <u>BRIDGETTE</u> in the brown overbox, telling the secretary to tell Phil.

Back to <u>Felicia</u>. <u>Dick Harris</u> came in. We played 3-hand (with me playing
most of Felicia's hand) <u>SPACE</u>. (Felicia didn't like the name.)
Dick liked the game but after we played it he said that M.B. [Milton Bradley] has
a game that is different <s>in</s> physically <s>different</s>, but quite
similar in the way that it develops. Pcs. [pieces], apparently, are fastened
together vertically and horizontally and if you play correctly
you can run <s>an</s> a number of pcs. [pieces] at one time. Dick said that
the name was on my rules and Felicia guessed <u>TOWERS</u>.
Later Dick said that the game was done by <u>Marvin Glass</u>. It is
being introduced in Europe and even England is not sure
(Arrow is M.B.'s [Milton Bradley's] subsidiary). The U.S. is very doubtful.<br>
Felicia asked <s>me (before Dick came)</s> if we should drop <u>SPACE</u>. Dick
said no, to go right ahead and he suggested that Lakeside might like it.
Felicia said that we had originally done it on order <s>fr</s> for them.<br>
Before Dick came Felicia asked me if <u>SUPER SPY</u> was anything like
<u>MINEFIELD</u>. Told her I didn't think so, but I'd check it. Then she
asked Dick about <u>SUPER SPY</u> and he said it was being dropped. They
thought it would do well at first, but then they came out with
<u>MANHUNT</u> and buyers thought they were similar - altho they are not -
and wanted the new one.<br>
After Dick left, Felicia told me that she had been at the Hallmark Gallery.
The girl there recommended <u>MOEBIES</u>, and when Felicia spoke to her
she said it was selling the best.<br>
Felicia called Lakeside. <u>Stan Harfenist</u> not in and she told<br>
