as my TOGETHERNESS for some time. But (I believe) the new batch of p & p games are still on.
Gave Phil the S & T sheet with my reviews of CARTEL, INFINITY, MONTAGE, and REALM. Also the copy of FOXBAT & PHANTOM.
Phil told me, in confidence, that Carl Eisenberg is somewhat dissatisfied working for Reiss and tried for a job with Hallmark. It went to someone else, but Carl learned that they were manufacturing 1,000,000 of the puzzle-games and that they expect to sell 150,000 this year as a "test". I asked if this meant for all 6 of the games, but Phil is pretty sure it was for each. If true that would mean I will get over $15,000 each for FITTING & PROPER and THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS.
I asked Phil if there was anything I should be working on. Nothing at present.
Back to S.P.I. and spoke to Jim Dunnigan about the list of games and how to go about trimming the down. Instead he suggested running it in two issues. If I have them typed and to him by next Monday it will still be in time to get first half in #41. The only off-beat war game they have included is DIPLOMACY. I should include RISK, etc.
In the evening called Jin to ask whether I should include standards like CHESS, BACKGAMMON, CHINESE CHESS, JAPANESE CHESS, GO, NINE MENS MORRIS, CHINESE CHECKERS, TEEKO. Jim said not to include card games with standard cards.
Jim gave me an ad for their upcoming game SINAI and a new listing of the S.P.I. games. A section on "Latest Releases and Advance Announcements" included - FALL OF ROME, DESERT WAR, WORLD WAR II, PANZERARMEE AFRIKA, SINAI, KAMPFPANZER, WAR IN THE EAST, SEELOWE, THE EAST IS RED, THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR.

Jerry D'Arcey here with Taiwanese friend of his son. Supper and slept over. He is here to try and set up an appointment with M.B. [Milton Bradley], or Parker [Parker Brothers], or both. Showed me what he has with him. He didn't seem to be familiar with most of them and the rules were poorly written, or completely missing.
THE HOOKER. Rathcon has discontinued this. The object is to swing the hook on ring so that it hooks onto a hook. Another way of using it is to swing it hard and count the swings. It is possible for the ring to eventually get hooked. One of mine did after 15 or 16 swings. Jerry said the previous record was 14.
CHICKEN. Using a die, players build a tower of discs of their color. The die faces are -1, 1, 2, 3, 4, "Chicken". When Chicken is thrown the players push buttons which actuate a vibrator which cause the towers to move to the edge of the platform,
