Call from Felicia. She finally got thru to Stan Harfenist. George Delaney is on vacation and we can't get a decision on 3D BOXES until after Labor Day. But please don't show it to anyone else!
Stan is surprised that Delaney wanted the more complicated game and prefers the simpler one himself. I told Felicia that both could be included.
It looks as if American Greetings will be taking ESCAPE. She asked if I had heard from Bob Gellman. Not since 8/21. Told her about my ideas for puzzle-games. She likes the name THE 31ST HEX. She thought that Bob Johnson had seen PUSHOVER. (Later checked and confirmed that he hadn't.)

Letter from Pierre Berloquin. Chance of publishing LES SIDOMINOS (DOMINO BEAD GAME) in France. He is working on a magazine TACTIQUES, something like G&P. Mentions 100 JEUX ALPHABETIQUES, 100 JEUX GEOMETRIQUES, 100 JEUX LOGIQUES, 100 JEUX NUMERIQUES, PATTON, S&T, MOVES, NINE OF SWORDS, and TRIPPPES.
Called Claude, Wald, and then Claude again about splitting royalties for DOMINO BEAD GAME. Decided on 2/3 to me and 1/6 each to Claude and Wald. Wald was quite happy with the arrangement while Claude was satisfied with his share but thought that Wald should get more. I looked thru the archives and confirmed that I had actually done all of the game itself - the Amberstones giving the idea of a pattern game, but in an entirely different context, and Claude suggesting dominos. Claude said that my larger share was more earned for selling the game than for creating it.

Started a finished model of THE 31ST HEX.

Gerry Sherbell called. He didn't think that Felicia showed much interest in CHESS WITHOUT TEARS and wondered if I would want to handle it myself, since I once said that I might have some ideas if Felicia didn't want to handle it. When pressed, I said that I had thought that "Gamekeepers" (CHICKADEE POKER, etc.) might be interested, but they are now out of business. He'll prepare the model for Felicia.

turn choose a pc. [piece] and place it on the board. Object is to complete a line of 4 that adds up to a "target number." I suggested that allowing a line of 3, as well as of 4, that adds to the "target number" might give more possibilites. He'll keep the idea in mind.
