Charlie left a clipping from the NEWSDAY with an article on a device - called the BETFINDER - which gives you the proper size of bets for different gambling games. (Filed in '73 misc. [1973 miscellaneous])

Dale and Phil looked at "Gameways" on Bloor St. in Toronto. All my 3M games were there.
Phil took info on the following as the only games that looked different:
ALGONQUIN VOYAGEURS (by Lloyd Travel Games - $6.00). Teaches about trails and camping.
THE GREAT GAME OF BRITAIN (by Condor - $6.00). Similar to THE LONDON GAME.
MULTIOPSONY (by House of Gordon - $7.00). Similar to MONOPOLY, but with somewhat more choices.

Finished getting a solution for each type of piece in the center for THE 31ST HEX.
Played a game with Phil Laurence. Each player in turn draws a piece blindly and play places it, the first one in the center and then connected, obeying the laws of the puzzle. Object is for each player to fill the two "goal spaces" across from each other (4 spaces total). The game became bogged done and it was necessary to replace pieces placed. Couldn't decide what the penalty for this would be and what happens to the piece removed.

EMPERADOR.
FUN AND GAMES WITH CARDS. Contains a few mildly different things: - ACES WILD, ANIMALS, BEAT YOUR NEIGHBOR, DOMINO FAN TAN, FIFTY, GIVE-AWAY, JUNIOR BRIDGE, NAME THE CARD, PLAY OR PLAY, ROYALTY-TEN, TOP-TO-BOTTOM, TWENTY-NINE, CIRCLE NINE, FOURTEENS, FRIDAY THE 13TH, KLONDIKE-EXTENDED.
Claude had bought a copy of MAD-CAPS which he bought at a thrift shop. Told him I had it and he kept it, without charging me.
Gave Claude the copy of TEN-Q which I payed him for but discovered that I had.
Claude gave me the copy of THE PRODUCTIVITY GAME that he bought for me at the Smithsonian. Actually it is a board with a spinner attached and the rules printed.
Claude tried out his game DIABOLIQUE with me, Earl, and Bob Abbott in different combinations of two at a time. The board is 4x4 and there are pcs. [pieces] with the following numbers: - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, -1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6, -7. Players in turn place an unused pc. trying to form a row of four adding to the "target number." At first the
