14 Tuesday - August 1973
226th day - 139 days to come
Call from Felicia. She had a letter from Jim Goldsberry. He thanked
her and her stable of inventors for being patient in our dealings
with Hallmark. Hallmark will be an importance force in the
game world, but we'll have to be patient a little more.
Felicia is going to talk to him and wanted to know if I want
my games back if he won't give $500 holding money on each.
I said I didn't want them back even if I couldn't get any
money at all. She said I was a "panty-waist" and then
agreed with me.
2nd call. She spoke to Goldsberry and agreed to $1000 for my
5 games:- RED LETTER, ANOTHER, DIGIT, PE-LING, and TROMINO GO
(SHAPE & SHATTER is being returned as well as WINDOW PAINS,
TRIPLE CROSS, and TOTALLY--). Since DUEL is Jim's favorite
she got $500 for Claude. Incidentally, Jim said that he
very much appreciated my understanding and cooperation.
He wasn't willing to offer any holding money for TRIAGO
and will send it back if the inventor wants money. Don't
remember exactly about Alan Turoff's MAKE-A-PUZZLE GAME
but I think he also wouldn't give money for it.
Told Felicia about the check for HONORABLE RELATIONS and
that I'd drop it off tomorrow, her $125.
3rd call in evening. She will be at "Gift Show" all day tomorrow.
Told her I'd drop the check in the slot. She had lunch with
O'Connor Barrett. He was happy that TOTTER is being
worked on. Sent his regards.
Rcd. [received] bill from Synthetic Plastics for the chips. Called Paul Eisland. He said the factory sent it and to ignore it.
BB typed the addition to my column and it ran a little over 3 pages instead of the 2 I originally told Redmund. I'll wait till I speak to him before I start cutting.
Call from Edith Slotkin. At the "Gift Show" she spoke to
Charles Wibel, of Gameophiles, who said he knew me.
Call from Claude about the "Gift Show." He saw most of
the colosseum exhibits, but not the Sheriton Hotel. The only
thing moderately interesting was SPACE HOP, by "A Time for
Growing." It is supposed to teach children thru adults about the
Solar System.
Told him about the $500 for DUEL. He wants to show his
appreciation to Felicia/
