Went over the rules for HYPERCHECKERS (played a game with BB), HYPERCHESS, and STARLORD - in preparation for me S&T column.

Rcd. [received] a call from Jerry D'Arcey. We talked for quite a while and then I called him back again at night and we talked some more.
Jerry has just about wrapped up the deal for SWEEP with Lakeside. At first they told him they'd give him $5,000 advance, but then cut him down to $3,000. They tried to chisle the royalty rate from 5% to 3% but Jerry refused that. Jerry gets 40% of this.
Told Jerry that I had something close to fruition with Lakeside. (3D BOXES).
Hasbro was definitely going to take Frank Thibault's STACTICS, but at the last minute backed out.
Hallmark tells Frank that they will be doing TOTEM next year.
Frank has an assignment to do a feature article on PLOY for S&T.
This coming week Dick Harris of M.B. is coming to look at about a dozen things that Jerry and Hans Goldschmidt have to show to him. Harris then has a separate appointment with Frank. They are showing primarily children's stuff since, as Jerry agrees with me, M.B. has moved away from anything really adult.
At Hans Goldschmidt's suggestion, Jerry called Marvin Glass and suggested that Glass finance him for 1 year and take 50% of anything he makes. Glass wasn't interested in this but, after listening to Jerry's credits, said he'd like to talk about a job. He said he'd contact Jerry when he, Glass, came west. So far Jerry hasn't heard from him.
Jerry sees OH HELL in the stores. However he sold his 10% back to the gal for $500 last spring to get money for his trip to N.Y. for Toy Fair. (Previously he told me $400)
Jerry is hepped on "Hang Gliding" (on a kite) and is trying to get $5000 financing to set up a school and Gliding facility.
