With BB to Claude's. Gave Brought him 12 boxes of the small chips. Loaned him the book HANKY PANKY.
He gave me a copy of the book GODS & GAMES (I'll pay for it) and loaned me the book HEADS I WIN TAILS YOU LOSE "The psychology and symbolism of gambling games" by Charlotte Olmsted (MacMillan, 1962)
To Philadelphia.
At Walnut Book Store bought a book CHESSMEN for $2.98 One of the clerks started talking to us and asked which games I had invented. It turned out that he has SLEUTH, a present from his girl friend. I told him about the rules for 2-hand play.
At Old Curiosity Shop bought a card game - ZODIAC GAME for $5.00. On the rules there is an advertisement for a strategic board game - PERPLEX. The game is © 1908.
After considerable looking found, at Emerson Book Co., the game CIRCO LOGIC. Bought it for $7.95.
At {Val Char, Handicraft Division, 7801 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, Pa. 19082} bought 11 packages of 100 plastic "nuggets" - list price $1.72 and 4 bags of 10 of another color - list price $0.30. Claude got 4 bags of the 100. I got 40% off for my "Gamut of Games" letterhead.
Took a catalog. Filed in "1973 Misc."
Asked Claude if he had finally contacted Wald (see 7/24). Yes. Wald is interested in setting up a talk program and asked Claude if he would appear on it if he succeeds. He asked Howard Wexler and he is willing too. Wald wants me, but never did call me
A big toy store in Phila. [Philadelphia] had one each of TEMPO and ODD OR EVEN.

Call from Earl Perel just as I was leaving for downtown. He is in Albany on a visit and will call me when he gets back.

Alan Newman thought that he knew of two games that I didn't know. He saw them in Florida. EL GAME, which he didn't like - and MASTER MIND, which he did.
