Called Jim Dunnigan. Told him I'd thought about it and came up with a solution.
He turned me over to Redmund after he told me that issue #41
will be shipped at the end of November. Redmund thought it would be better
if I used the short reviews for #40 and REALM, MONTAGE, INFINITY,
and CAR-TEL for #41. I'll try to have the new column ready by the
8/13 deadline. In two pages I can get about 3400 words, Redmind
told me, and if I run a little over he probably can find some room.
He said he'd try his best not to bounce a column, and it has only
happened once, but he can't swear that it won't happen again.
Incidentally, I had left word for Jim to call me when I called
earlier. He didn't.
Call from Claude. Discussed my problem with S&T (actually this was
before my call to Jim D.). Also told Claude of my disappointment
with the colors of the chips. Claude thought they'd be useful.
2nd call from Claude. He was at a thrift shop and there was a metal
cabinet in good condition for $15. There are 16 drawers about
11"x10"x2 1/2" deep. I told him I would like to have it and he'll put
a deposit on it and I'll pick it up Monday.
