24 Tuesday - July 1973
Pioneer's Day (Utah) - 205th Day - 160 Days to Come
Rcd. [received] the PLAYTHINGS Directory Issue. 3M not in at all.
BB typed the rules for 3D BOXES. To Boston Road for repros. [reproductions] Put packing material in the box to try and hold everything in place. Used the plastic with the air hemispheres.
At a bazaar in Flushing bought a number of plastic "jewels" of different
sizes and coloration, for possible game equipt. [equipment]
On Boston Road bought a handbag for $2.95 with close to 800 plastic
hemispheres glued on it. They are white, yellow, red, green and blue.
It was a little of a task cutting them off.
Rcd. a call from Paul Eisland of "Synthetic Plastic Novelties." The
36 boxes of 7/8 chips were there. Told him I'd pick them up
Tomorrow.
Called Mike Alber to see if it would be O.K. if I picked up
BILLIONAIRE, etc. next week. No problem.
Call from Claude. Wald called him while he was out and then was out
when he, Claude, called back. He asked if I had heard from
Wald. No.
Discussed trip to Phila Friday.

each player a set of numbers from 1 to 6. After
throwing the dice the player could switch one or more of the
dice to another number, crossing out the number turned to.
It just slowed up the game. I said that the game has
to be just one of luck, and fast moving in general. I suggested
an idea to avoid a player being stuck without being
able to move. After throwing the dice the player can ignore
the throw and instead move to any two adjacent spaces. Didn't
try it out.
Called Jim Dunnigan and complained about my column being
dropped from #39. He was not particularly sympathetic but
when I offered to quit the column he said that although it
was vying with "Pass in Review" (which was dropped twice) for
last place, 70% of the readers still want both of them
kept.
When I mentioned not being paid Jim said that I got
paid in games, both the Simulations and the others. Told
him the Simulations were not that important to me and he
said that the others still should make it worth my while.
He said that the game companies should be glad to give
