22 Sunday - July 1973
Sixth Sunday after Pentecost - 203rd Day - 162 Days to Come

Thought of a change in 3D BOXES. Each player, as part of the set-up places one "horizontal in the third level). Tried it myself and with BB. Not a big change and certainly doesn't do any harm.
Fixed up the illustration and finished rewriting the rules.

Dave Horn told me about (and later gave me) an ad from the TIMES Book section for SCARNE'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF GAMES. Among the games mentioned are CUTTTHROAT CANASTA, TEEKO, JEWISH FARO, DOCTOR VIDETTI. (Filed in '73 Misc.)

Gary Sherbell called about his OPTION CHESS. Told him that Felicia was interested in my description of it and definitely liked the name CHESS WITHOUT TEARS. He'll get the model ready to bring her.

supply new things rather than do knock-offs.
Told Phil about SKYSCRAPERS and mentioned Mag-Nif's TORUS.
Told Phil about END OF THE LINE. He Doesn't mind if I use the name.
Call from Felicia. She was very disappointed in the 3M report. I pointed out that it was a 6% drop and I hadn't really expected anything better.
She has been trying to get in touch with Stan Harfenist (spelling?) about 3D BOXES, but without success.
I told her about the call from Alan Newman and his mentioning that his game THE SUPERSTAR GAME was being considered by D.D.I. She said that they are in trouble, and have not been paying their sales commissions. Later she said they were reducing the commissions.
She rcd. [received] the rules for MAGIC WAR TRAILS from Odette Willis. Odette did the translation herself since Pierre Berloquin was on vacation.
She has written to Hallmark that we haven't rcd. the option money for HONORABLE RELATIONS.
She has written to 3M (to whom) asking about SPECTRUM. No answer yet.
She had a meeting with Dick Harris of M.B. She showed him PUSHOVER again and he told her that he had seen it. I told her that only MB and Schaper had seen it.
Dick said that SNOOP was the same as a kid's marble game. He also said that BUS STOP was the same as PATHFINDER. I told her it wasn't. Dick also thought that THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE was too much like their WHICH WITCH?

BB gave me a set of cards that Claude had once given her with artistic faces. 2 are missing.
