Rcd. a letter from J. Fialkoff who found FOCUS
in SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN. He is looking for a suitable 3-player
GAME.

Drew up a diagram for SUPERGHOSTS. Decided not to do
CHOOSE-A-LETTER for the present.

Worked out a number setup for LAPS but in trying it a
little saw that it didn't allow for very long moves.

Call from Wald. Arthur died suddenly today. The funeral is
tomorrow. Called Claude and he already was told. I'll pick him up tomorrow.

While indexing the game diary (journal) discovered that on
5/23 Felicia forgot to show LOTTERY to Bob Johnson and
Burt Huber and I forgot to talk about it on 5/24.

a player's turn he draws another card to bring his hand back to 6.
When deck is exhausted it is reshuffled and turned over.
A player can play a "PREVENT" card instead of moving
card and can specify which piece, not including PAWNS, cannot
be moved. (I suggested a card as shown to indicate which
piece is prevented.) No piece of either side of that
type can be moved until either player plays a "release" card. A "RELEASE" card cannot be played immediately after the play of the "PREVENT" card, altho a
"RELEASE" card can be played to a previously played "PREVENT" card.
The game is over when the "King" is actually captured.

Henry Pelham & Burt and I played a game, which he won. Then Gary
and I played, and I won. Told Gary that I liked it a lot. Thought
it would be most commercially practical as a set of cards and a
"prevent" layout card, possibly with the card distribution on it,
and letting people use their own board and pieces.
I'll talk to Felicia about it next Wednesday and Gary will call me
Thursday. Took his address and telephone numbers.

Earl Perel called during the evening. Told him about Arthurt. He said
that he might come with me when I visit Wald during Shiva. I'll
call him in a few days.
