6 Friday - July 1973
187th day - 178 days to come
Rcd. [received] G&P (#14, June '73). Articles on BIGBOSS, ULCERS, BRIDGE, DECLINE AND FALL, SUPERPUZZLE, GIN RUMMY, and others.
Rcd. a letter from Alister Macintyre. Mentions a new edition upcoming of GAMBIT and I realize that this is the same as the one handled by G. & R. Also mentions CHIRP, and GROW - "A BIOLOGICAL UNIVERSE".
Wrote to Haar Hoolim. Mentioned STACK-UP, MATTIX, Q-SETS, CHINESE MATCHING CARDS, BITSBITSBITS, ACQUIRE, SLEUTH, EXECUTIVE DECISION, FITTING AND PROPER, THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS, PATTON, HOLIDAY, THE INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW, DIPLOMACY, CHERCLES, COVER UP, DRAFT DRAUGHTS, G&P.
Ate in Chinese restaurant with BB, Anne, Claude, Betty, Issy, and Earl. Nothing specific on games. Earl mentioned that AGOG was being sold out at the Albany University bookstore for $1.00

Bernice was with Dale today, and Dale said that someone had sent
a card GAME to Simulations, and that Phil had it.
Called Phil and he said that it was a letter about a card word
game. He read it to me and it sounded like they were trying to
sell the game to Simulations. I'll get it from him, the letter that
is, when we get together.
Phil said that Jim Dunnigan is going to cut down on the S&T
advertising budget. Also they'll be putting out less games.
The circulation of S&T is now just under 25,000.

When with Bob Gellman, suggested sending PATTON to amateur war mags. I'm to prepare a list.
(cont. from 7/20) [7/20]
Mr. Shapiro of Book Sales, DAFT DRAUGHTS, and CHERCLES.
Put markers in my S&T file boxes so that I can find the issues I want, either originals or duplicates.
Thinking of another p&p GAME idea. Something like REVERSI can be played by each player putting a mark in a side or a corner as he gains the space.

Called "European Publishers Representatives Inc." just to see
if they stocked back numbers of G&P. No. Just take subs.
Called Bekins and they still sell the "Bekins Boxes for
$6.00 a dozen.
