the luck of the dice throw or the drawing of a card.
After I said it she sort of agreed, but said that it was
attractively done and that Hallmark was looking for a
MONOPOLY type. I asked if Hallmark had seen LOTTERY and
she said yes. (At home I checked and saw that in '72
she had written to Bob Johnson about it, but have no record
of his answer, if any.)
SNOOP - A card game played with 40 cards, 2 each of
the following combinations of 3, out of 6, colors.
[The letters Y, O, R, G, B, and V are arranged into three rows with the letters aligned to form groups of 3 as columns. The letters are in the following groups: YOR; YOG; YOB; YOV; YRG; YRB; YRV; YGB; YGV; YBV; ORG; ORB; ORV; OGB; OGV; OBV; RGB; RGV; RBV; GBV]
When 2 <s>play</s> or 3 play each is deal 7 cards as a hand
and one "objective." This tells him the colors and positions
he is trying to get. Play as in <s>Rum</s> RUMMY until all the
cards are exhausted. The players then score 2 points for
each color on a card in the right position - same as on
their "objective," and 1 point for each color in wrong position.
(There seems to be a strong advantage to having Y and V
since they are always in the right position.) For making
a certain number of points a player gets a bonus as
follows: 26 points [arrow] 4 points
27 " [arrow] 8 "
28 " [arrow] 12 "
29 " [arrow] 16 "
30 " [arrow] 20 "
Before actually counting the score each player tries to
guess his opponent's "objective." For being correct he
scores as follows:
[information is arranged in a table with the first column showing the objectives, the second column shows the score for a 2 or 3 player game, the third column shows the score for a 4 player game]
[column 1]1 color out of position [column 2] 5 points [column 3] 10 points
[column 1] 2 colors out of position [column 2] 10 points [column 3] 20 points
[column 1] 1 color in position [column 2] 10 points [column 3] 20 points
[column 1] 1 color in position & 1 out of position [column 2] 20 points [column 3] 30 points
[column 1] 2 colors in position [column 2] 30 points [column 3] 40 points
[column 1] 3 colors in position [column 2] 50 points [column 3] 70 points
When 4 play they play as partners. Each gets 5 cards
