24 Sunday - June 1973
Second Sunday After Pentecost - St. John, Baptist - 175th Day - 190 Days to Come

Walking around the INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW, spoke to:
-Tom Gaddis (from Texas) who is a particular fan of ACQUIRE & PATTERNS II.
-A fan mag. [magazine] publisher - {Joseph Autosiak [address] Told him about PATTON and he'd like to do a review. Told him that I'd have the manufacturer send him a copy.
-Larry Burns of "The Gamekeepers" publishers of "W.C. Fields Games of Chance." Exchanged cards. He said they might be interested in looking at some of my games.
Later Jim Faulkner told me that "The Gamekeepers" might take over NEXUS and his other games.
Ron Sokolec of Franklin Merchandising Co. He thanked me belatedly for the review of THE GREAT DOWNHILL SKI GAME. Exchanged cards.
-Tom Dalgliesh of Gamma Two. He said that he'd be interested in looking at some of my games. Exchanged cards and I told him to get in touch with me.
In the near future they will be coming out with a game which will be called either GOLD RUSH, KLONDIKE, or GOLD FEVER. Asked him to send me a review copy.
They will be taking over the game WEATHERWITS (see 4/26). (Don't remember if I asked for a review copy.)

The show was selling some games at a discount. Among others they had ACQUIRE for $7. They went very quickly. I autographed 2 that one fan bought.
I told Larry Blandin that I would give an autographed copy of AGOG to the winner. Larry asked Len Lakofka to arrange a tournament. Len announced one at two different times but couldn't get enough interest.
There were a number of ACQUIRE sets for the tournament. I asked and Larry said I could take one.
Larry said that prior to the show they did some TV promotion and decided, mainly because of me, to feature 3M games - especially ACQUIRE. They got a lot of games from 3M for the promotion. The table of 3M games at the show was set up by the show in appreciation.
Larry said that he appreciated all I had done for the show and definitely wants me in on it in some form in coming years.
