18 MONDAY-JUNE 1973
169TH DAY-196 DAYS TO COME
At main library in Pittsburgh saw a listing for NEW GAMES TO PLAY by Juel Krisvoy. It was not in- it was a circulation book. They had AGOG listed.
At Kaufmann's dept. [department] store bought a Whitman game- RELATE.
Rcd. [received] an ad from "Spartan International, Inc." for a convention at Hotel McAlpin. Among other things mentioned LENSMAN, SINK THE BISMARCK, RICHTNOFEN'S WAR, and NUCLEAR DESTRUCTION. (Filed in "NFFF, Nost, etc folder.")
(cont. from 6/19) [6/21]
THE GODFATHER GAME was a failure according to the
people they interviewed. (But someone in the audience
pointed out how many had been sold.)
TV advertising for a specific game can help all games.
In the afternoon saw a seminar billed as "Stop the World-
Our [illegible strikeout] Consumer's Gotten Off!"- but all it was was an
ad plug for the agency.
At the earlier seminar for a folder on "Pilot Study of Dealers'
Appraisal of the Games Industry." Also got one fro for Felicia.
Rcd. [received] a call from Walter Dykowski (later learned from Dale that he had called New York first). He asked about the show and finally decided to drive in tomorrow. He'll contact me when he gets in.
At the cocktail party I spoke to Kieth Tuggle and some other
people. BB spoke to Allan Calhamer and Earl Doherty's wife.
Also some of the girls connected with the show.
I spoke to Earl & Alfons earlier in the day. The package
with HABITAT, GROOVE, and the two versions of KGB were sent to me
about 2 weeks ago. They [illegible strikeout] will send me a copy of the new
version of RAT RACE.
Spoke to Earl a little at the cocktail party.
Towards the end of the party Larry was being interviewed and I
heard ACQUIRE mentioned. I came over and Larry introduced
me to a reporter from the "Chicago News Bureau" (which feeds stories
to all local media. He interviewed me later.
A asked Larry to send me any clippings about me or my games.
He said he'd do it - sometimes.
[Drawing of two arrows. One pointed up and one pointed down] [Started 6/21]
Bought CHICAGO TODAY which had an article on the show. Mentioned ACQUIRE, with other games.
