VICTORIA/QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY (CANADA) - 141ST DAY - 224 DAYS TO COME

To Stationery Show.
--Springbok. 6 puzzle-games there. FITTING & PROPER, THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS, CUBITS, PENTOMINOES, MOEBIES (Alex Randolph), SWEEP (Wade E. Philpott). This is the same as SOLITAIRE except that the board is 7x7.
On the board for THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS there was no raised portion of connecting the circles vertically and horizontally. Then spoke to Burt Huber who was at the show. He is aware of this and it is being changed in the die. In the illustrations in the rule there was not enough contrast between the line being shown and the others. He'll take care of it. In the illustration showing how to set up the discs so that a solution is assured the numbers are given downward (as shown below) instead of across as before. Burt said this was necessary due to some switching but I took the following record to check it out myself.

[Drawing of 9 circles]

Burt said that they are adding THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS game to the instructions.
In FITTING & PROPER they did not have the "setup" sheets. Burt said that it was quite expensive to punch the holes in a sheet. I suggested adding some layouts on the instructions sheet. He thought that that could be done. (Later someone, can't remember who, said there was no room for this.)
Gary ? , Burt's assistant said that the next batch would have FOCUS, DUEL, TOTEM, and 2 or 3 others. These [illegible strikeout] will be for next spring. The present 6 won't be shipped until fall of this year. Met Bob Johnson for a moment. He'll set up a meeting time with Felicia.
-3M. Met Kathy Brooks. She said that SLEUTH and EVADE were the best of the Gamette line and they're doing o.k.
Showed her SPECTRUM and she liked it. They are looking for a purely strategic game for the 1974 bookshelf line. The find that they do best with strategy games. I'll write up the rules and have Felicia send her the computer model. The middle of June is o.k.
The bookshelf are going to $10.00 and the gamette to $5.00.
