6 SUNDAY - MAY 1973
SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER - 126TH DAY - 239 DAYS TO COME
At two bazaars bought snap together plastics pcs. in 5 colors.,
a novelty called SEXY DICE, 6 packages of short lead, and
two cards of sample buttons.
Finished writing up TRIPLE YAHTZEE for S&T column. BB typed some of it.
Started copying the board from the game DECLINE & FALL.
(cont. from 5/7) [5/21]
GUZZLE GAME, TIC TAC STRIP GAME. I asked the fellow if he
had or knew about ORGASM and he said no, very annoyed. (I
couldn't find it anywhere and later Les Martindale said he
thought it had been censored.)
- The Gambel Group. NEVADA JACK. Took a sheet. Played a little
and it was very dull. If a player bets in the center he col-
lects only if 3 cards turned. The "Total even" or "Total odd"
bets are payed after the 3 cards are turned.
- The Gamekeepers. Gambling items based on W.C. Fields.
CHICKADEE POKER - Special deck with 8 aces and no deuces. The
queens also have special powers. Didn't get details. Took an
order sheet. CHEAT-A-DICE POKER is probably LIAR's POKER.
- Karen Koal Enterprises. She and Thomas Beck were there. He said
that he sent me a GALAXY GAZER after speaking to me on 3/30.
I told him that I hadn't rcd. it and he gave me another. He said
that they eventually want to expand their line and would I be in-
terested in submitting to them. Told him yes, and that I can
work to specifications.
- The Puzzle Factory. Spoke to Jerry Green and Pat. They said they
are doing very well. Two They had 2 new games:- TOSS WORD. Pat told
me that each player chooses a subject and takes a crossword layout,
blank. In turn throw two dice and put in a word, or meaningful
series of words, with that length and on the subject chosen. As
puzzle is filled up, the crossing words must match at the common letter.
Didn't get details. CHARADE CROSSWORD - the definitions are acted
out. Didn't get details.
They want other simple word GAMEs, that can be explained
to buyers in no more than 3 minutes. Mentioned that I had
one, called TAKE-A-WORD that probably would be just right for
them but that someone is looking at it.
Later thinking on a GAME using pcs. with [drawing of 3 letter pcs.]
3 letters, as shown but couldn't get it to work out.
- Gameophiles. Spoke to Charles Wibel and found out that Bailey
had dome three of his things:- FRUSTABLES, CORNERED-BUT-UNDAUNTED,
and FLIP AND FLOP. (Got some info today but will list it all on
5/24 when I picked up a catalog.)
- Four Generations. Took a catalog. There are Phil Shoptaugh's three
