20 FRIDAY - APRIL 1973
GOOD FRIDAY - 110TH DAY - 255 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. April TOYS. Has article on PACHINKO.
Wrote to Don Miller telling him I would be sending him the "Test
Series" games soon. Also told him that I'd quote his subscription
prices for G&P in my next S&T column, unless I hear otherwise from
him.
Wrote to Frank Armbruster about G&P subscriptions. Mentioned
TANGRAMS (the traditional and my game), ARVESTA, &
POTENTIAL.

Rcd. the TRIPLE YAHTZEE glossy.

Phil F. brought me duplicate copies of GRENADIER, WILDERNESS CAMPAIGN,
and FRANCO-PRUSSIAN WAR; a mailing box; 7 copies of S&T #37.
The feature game is SCRIMMAGE.

Visit from George & Dorothy Bredehorn and Stan Chess. They brought
a copy of George's game NUMBER PLEASE? as a present.
Played 3D BOXES with George. He beat me 6-5 and liked the game.
Played his game, which we later all discussed and came up
with the name OF COURSE. There is a board as show, with
[drawing of betting board and betting slips] the upper end raised so that it is tiltinged.
There are a number of wooden blocks of different
shapes (not shown). One player sets as many
of these blocks in any position on the board.
He then announces which starting track
(from 1 thru 4) he will use to start the
wooden ball provided. Each player including
the one making the setup, decides which compartment (from
A thru E) he thinks the ball will end up in. He has three
"betting slips" which he places under the rubber band on his
"betting board" (both shown). He can bet all on one compartment
or spread his bets as he wishes. If he thinks that the ball
will get caught he turns the slip, or slips, over to indicate
this. (Another space could be provided on the "betting board.")
Then the ball is releases. Score for any "betting slips"
placed correctly. Continue until each player has had an equal
number of turns to make a setup.
Then the 5 of us played RED LETTER, George and Stan kept
making very long words and getting bonus chips. Even tho
I made a lot more red letters I came out behind them.
Decided to definitely to limit the number of scoreable bonus
chips to 2 for each red letter, instead of the present three.
Also thought of raising some of the value of some red letters as
follows: R S T U V - from 20 to 25; W X Y Z - from 25 to 40.
Another possibility - give 2 bonus chips, in addition to
the point value and any lengh length bonus chips, for
getting J and Q as red letters. And possibly X and Z too.
Told George that Parker had rejected PSYCHOLOGICAL BLOCKS,
with a nice letter.
