16 Monday - April 1973
Monday in Holy Week - Patriot's Day (Mass.) - 106th Day - 259 Days to Come

Downtown for meeting with Bob Gellman and Rick Lewis. Figured out how to prepare the PATTON and HOLIDAY material for the F.A.O. Schwartz catalog. Rick will take care of that first and then will work on the three board for the actual game. Once he has them blocked out he will contact me and we'll get together for me to look at them. We exchanged cards.
When Rick left Bob & I went over the copy on the two games. Also the equipment list for inclusion in the F.A.O. catalog.
Bob liked the way I prepared the Sicily map and the "movement" cards. I told him that I could do the illustrations for the PATTON rules in ink so that they could be reproduced directly. In return I asked for a dozen copies of HOLIDAY and a dozen of PATTON. Its a deal.
I brought it up, and he will prepare a contract for PATTON. His meeting with Reiss last Monday was pleasant, but Reiss declined to handle PATTON, HOLIDAY, and MOVIE MOGULS. He thinks they are good games but he doesn't think the size of the box is right for sale in stationery departments. Space on the ground floor od the department stores is counted at a much higher rate than the upper floors, where toy departments are located. So they want small boxes. Bob said that Brentano's tells him his size is just right.

To M.B. and then upstairs to Lowe where Mickie Mackay now has her office. Spoke to her awhile and took copies of MANHUNT, SUPER SPY and TRIPLE YAHTZEE. Also took glossies of the first two and she will have one sent for the last. The list price of MANHUNT is "under $7.00," TIPLE YAHTZEE "under $3.50."
To Felicia. Told her that Dick Harris hadn't seen CONTRACT. She rcd. [received] a letter from Bill Dohrmann that PSYCHOLOGICAL BLOCKS was being returned. It was good, but they have something "stronger."
Told Felicia that I was coming along on 3D BOXES and that I would probably call her at the end of the week.

To Ain Plastics and found 11 1/8" red rods to use for 3D BOXES to use instead of the orange I bought before.

At the Berdicks got another copy of the TIMES article on games of 4/8.

Called Early and arranged to pick him up tomorrow.
