95TH DAY - 270 DAYS TO COME

Bob Champer here for a good part of the day. Played "The Bulge"
and "Normandy Breakout" twice each and "Sicily" once. They all played
quite well, and we're quite satisfied with PATTON. I'll write the rules
and he'll do the historical material. We'll get together next Thurs-
day to go over them.

David Kribs called to say that they are still working on getting
BEAT THE [illegible strikeout] MARKET ready. I asked about AIRPORT (HIGHJACKED)
and he'll talk to Cliff Denison about getting me a copy. the subject of
game shows came up and I told him about INTERNATIONAL GAME SHOW.
Gave him address.

Started making some layouts for 3D BOXES. Started with 3x3x3
layout of cubes. Much too big.
Jack Parr had John Scarne as a guest. The mentioned that his
SCRANES ENCYCLOPEDIA ON GAMES (Harper & Row) will be out in
a month. Scarne said he has been working on it for 15 years
and that it has "every game in the world." Was thinking of writing to
Paar and sending him a copy of AGOG.
Called Leonard Willett and he'll redo the dependent part of my
taxes and mail them to me.

Also sent copies of COURIER #53 and #54.

Wald called me from the hospital and I called him back after the 3 minutes
[illegible strikeout] ran out. Among other things, I asked him about Strongin's trip
to Hasbro. He came back with another check for BALANCE OF POWER.

Call from Ken Morgan. He saw Bob Gellman and was shocked that he
didn't have MOVIE MOGULS anywhere near ready for shipping.
He also saw Dorothy Shapiro who wants to get copies of
MOVIE MOGULS.
We agreed that Bob Gellman has neglected Dorothy Shapiro in favor
of Bill Tyler which is a mistake.
I told him that I got an advance from Gellman for PATTON, mainly
because I have someone else working with me.
He said that he had some ideas for topical GAMES and as soon as he is perm-
[illegible strikeout] anently back in town he'd like to get together and
discuss my working with him on them.

Brought UPSTAGE back to Claude. Also gave him the page and book
references for the Capital Gains Tax treatment.
At a "flea market" in Flushing found my WHAT'S IT WORTH TO YOU? model.
The woman said she bought it at a post office auction last
