22 THURSDAY - MARCH 1973
81ST DAY - 284 DAYS TO COME

Call from Felicia. She had a letter from Bob Johnson. He
has been very busy and hasn't had a chance to spend much
time with Sid's games (IMPULSE and SPACE STIX). But he thinks
we'll be happy with the results. He'll try to give us an answer
by the beginning of April.

Felicia heard from Stan Chess (I believe). They are pleased with
the prospects (CLUE-WORDS, PSYCHOLOGICAL BLOCKS). They'll have a
bunch of new GAMEs for her.

I had been trying to remember and checked with Felicia. We have a
"Letter of Intent" from Bob Gellman covering HOLIDAY. I signed it.

At Claude's Finished a rough map for Sicily version of
PATTON. Made a set of pieces and a set of "move cards."

At Claude's played his new GAME with BB and Anne too. There is a
32 space path. that There are 6 different types of spaces in
a "random" type of arrangement. There is a deck of 36 cards,
representing the 6 types of spaces - with varying amounts
of each. 3 to 6 can play. Choose for first. The player's markers
are lined up in spaces at the beginning of the path. The cards
are divided equally between the players. All players place a card
face down. The lead player tries to play (that is if he has one) a
card representing a space one or two spaces ahead of his marker.
The others try, again if they have the proper card, to play a
card representing a space that will be directly in front of the
lead marker at the time their card is turned up. The cards are
turned up in the order of the player's markers on the board, starting
with the lead. The lead moves one or two spaces - or stays where
he is. Another player moves directly in front of the lead marker if
his card matches. Failing this, he moves ahead to a vacant matching
space behind the lead, if available; otherwise he remains. If a
player ends on a space with a special mark, he takes a
card - blind - from the player wit who is behind at the end
of the round. Incidentally, at the end of each round the
cards played are picked up by the player's to the left. Object is
to land on the last space.

I suggested, instead of using the marked spaces, have the player
who is ahead at the end of each round take a card from
the player who is last. We tried it and it worked well.

Claude wanted to try that the player in the lead could take
a card from each other player. This was unsatisfactory and
we stopped it.

Played PATTON - Sicily. Started playing against Raymund and then
Claude took over. Played well.

Claude used pictures he cut from wrapping paper he bought. He
had another roll which I bought from him ($1.50 for 3'x4'
with 588 pictures I believe).
