26 FRIDAY - JANUARY 1973
26TH DAY - 339 DAYS TO COME

Dropped in at Fred Feucht's. Took back MANHATTAN MADNESS, in pretty
bad shape. Spoke to Fred about a series of small games. He
is trying to set up a meeting with Marshall Lucas, but without
too much success. I told him about my connections with Felicia,
who also was going to see Marshall Lucas and how I have to keep things separate.

Told him that I might have other possibilities for TAKE-A-WORD.
I'll let him know if I do decide to show it elsewhere.
He'll let me know in advance of any meeting with Marshall
Lucas so that I can decide whether to have him show it or not.

To Brentano's. Spoke to Dorothy Shapiro and gave her copies of
S & T #32, 33, 34, & 35.
3M told her that they did well in '72. The games did well
in Brentano's, except for MONAD, of which they have piles. There
is only 1 SLEUTH left but they can't reorder until after inventory.
She said that jig-saws are doing very well. Told her of the ones in
food packages. The salesman never called on her.
She said that TRIPPPLES was the nearest thing to a craze this
X'Mas. They will be coming out with a cheaper edition with a
plastic tray. Dorothy doesn't think the present edition looks worth its price.
She asked me to let her know if I find any other possible crazes.
I told her about HOLIDAY. She was very interested in it,
particularly that it can be played by from 2 to 8 players. Possibly I'll
go to the store to demonstrate it.
She wants Bob Gellman to get in touch with her, because she
wants more MOVIE MOGULS.
Saw that they had copies of AGOG in the game book section
for $2.98.

To Pierce Promotion and got an IMAGE glossy from Jack Davis.

Met Claude and went to the thrift shops. Claude bought a copy
of Jules Cooper's THE STOCK MARKET GAME. I bought, for 35 [cents],
THE GAME OF LOVE.
Claude had the March and Dec. '72 SCIENTIFIC AMERICANs for me -
50 [cents] each. Returned the copy of TOY REVIEW to him. The Dec. '72
mag. mentions Jerry D'Arcey and THE IMPUZZABLES.
Claude asked me what kind of arrangement I would want if he made
use of the moving mechanism I used in TAKE FIVE. I told
him that I had gotten a release from Renwal on it and I will
probably try to do something with it myself.
Claude rcd. a letter from HASBRO saying that they had bought all
rights to his Auction GAME. He rcd. a letter from
Frank Armbruster that his royalties on GENIUS BLOCKS were about $22
(the amount was Claude's not Frank's).

Rcd. the letter from Hasbro on HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME.
Arthur called to say that he had rcd. his.
Rcd. the $375 check for FOCUS from Hallmark. (cont. on 1/27)
