Finished indexing the 1972 diary in the rear, which I have
been working on for some time.

(cont. from 2/28) [2/28]
To the synestructics (NET RESULTS, etc.) booth and gave Peter Pearce a copy of S & T (#35 I believe).
To Felicia's. The man from American Greetings, and his gal
assistant waited as long as they possibly could for me to
come, since he wanted to meet me. He'll be back for stationery
show. She showed him the following:
UPSTAGE - doesn't think the stage theme would be popular outside
of N.Y. Would like to see it as an abstract game of strategy.
TORTS - THE GAME OF SUIT AND COUNTERSUIT, Thinks a name like
LAWSUIT would be better. Also the play is too technical.
AVARICE - liked and took rules. (What about TRIAD??)
FOREIGN INTRIGUE - liked and took rules. He thinks there should
be rules for 2 & 3 players. I took the model with me so that I
can work on this.
STICKY PROBLEMS & GAME IN HAND. Took rules. He suggested two
balls for the latter.
MAKABRAKA CHAIN - Too expensive for what it does.
PAIR OFF - He liked it and was going to take rules but Felicia
was afraid that Bill Garrity had liked it and she put the
rules aside.
MULLIGAN - Too expensive. Also he doesn't like games where players
judge each other.
DOUBLE AGENT - Took rules. [Illegible crossed out]
ESCAPE - Likes the mechanism, but would want another theme.
TRY-ANGLES & QUADRUME - Didn't care for.
OVER 'N OVER - Felicia faked the rules and he liked the idea.
Felicia said I'd send them to him. I took the model with me.
THE LION'S SHARE (Vittet) Took rules.
DOODLE BUILDER - Fun, but much too expensive.
We decided that I would write to
{S.H. "Mac" McGuire"
{Marketing Department
{American Greetings Corp.
{1305 West 78th St.
{Cleveland, Ohio 44102
{[Illegible crossed out] (216-252-7300)
I'll tell him that I was sorry I
missed him, send PAIR OFF rules,
promise him OVER 'N OVER rules,
and mention 2 & 3 hand
FOREIGN INTRIGUE.
I told her of my talk with Keith. She had spoken to Hank Simmons
(who <s>had</s> sent his regards to me) and got sales figures
on CHAOS, etc. and she was pretty disgusted with 3M.
She also said the "The Puzzle Factory" has built a big new plant,
is doing well with THE DICTIONARY GAME and wants a simple
word GAME.
Keith called and they agreed that she'll send TRY-ANGLES,
QUADRUME (they are definitely interested in a wargame), and
also INVASION.
