Rcd. [received] ALBION #41. Had a reprint of the PANZERFAUST article on ANZIO. A review of SOLDIERS. An article on STRATEGY 1. BLOTS AND STRAIGHTS, a new game by V.R. Parton. An article on U.S.N. Two new DIPLOMACY variants - THE MOVABLE BASE GAME and CRYPTODIPLOMACY; mention of DIPLOMYOPIA. Review of STOCKS AND BONDS. A review of SMOG. An article of DARK AGES. A mention of HULL DOWN. A mention of THE GAME OF THE CLANS, A mention of our visit to England. He'll by [be] reviewing EXECUTIVE DECISION in the next issues.

Also included issues #47, #48, and #49 of COURIER which handles the postal DIPLOMACY and ORIGINS OF WORLD WAR II games.

Called S & T to see if I could change the price on STRATO TAC-TICS and STRATO CHECKERS. Kevin said it was already printed.

Since I was going out I called Martin Gardner. The specific ques- tion he called about yesterday concerned the correct name of the book THE GUIDE TO SIMULATION GAMES FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING. In the periodical SIMULATION/GAMING/NEWS there was an ad for the second edition and it was given as "The Guide to Simulations--." I checked my copy to confirm the singular. He will mention the first edition in his January column.

Incidentally the 2nd edition has been expanded to about 500 pages. It now sells for about $13. After publication it will be $15. Martin is not buying it.

Martin had some material he was going to mail to me. Since I was going to White Plains I arranged to stop on the way back and pick it up.

He gave me a copy of a game SYMMETRY sent to him by its inventor, IAN P. HOWARD. (Placed game in HI-BALL box and letter from the professor in Martin Gardner folder.)

Gave me an article on "Parker Brothers" entitled "Do Not Pass Go" that someone sent him - YANKEE Magazine. (Filed in M.G. Folder.)

On one of the pages there was an ad for a book by Emerson Books - THE MATH ENTERTAINER.

Gave me a copy of Piet Hein's NIMBI (put out by Hubly Division of Gabriel Industries).

Martin had the others of the set. I saw them at Brentano's except for ANAGOG which appears to be identical with mag- Nif's TUT'S TOMB.

Martin gave me the copy of SIMULATION/GAMING/NEWS (with 1/2 page where the book ad was missing). Among other things there is a complete game - GRASSLANDS and an ad for Gini Scott's AMERICAN GAMES ASSOCIATION.

Frank Armbruster will be handling subscriptions for S/G/G. Martin rcd. (received) page proofs of the booklet for THE TOWER GAME from Frank Armbruster.
