HANUKKAH, FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS - 336TH DAY- 30 DAYS TO COME

Came up with an arrangement of going back arrows for JUNGLE RACE. Then made a board. Put on the arrows with self stick.

Claude called. Martin's had remnent [remnant] rolls of contact (or rather clopay) for 15¢ a yard. Told him to bring me a glossy black and a wood grain green.

Claude [^and Anne] here for supper. Brought me a 15 yard roll of black and a 14 yard roll of green (or so they were marked) as well as the book THE BOMB AND THE COMPUTER. Wouldn't take money, but I gave him G & P #6, 7, and 8 and three copies of AGOG.

Played a new version of MANIPULATION. He had a completely new set of values- "Inside Information Chart" - and he gave me one. (He will probably change the $1,300 listings to $1,500, getting rid of the $100 bills.)

Each player is given 1 share of each stock and $10,000 at the start. The bank has $200,000 from which the initial money is given to each player. When that money is gone the bank gets a reserve from which the bank's obli- gations are met. There are now 4 more rounds (Phase II thru [through] Phase V) and cards list changes for each - such as compulsory auctioning of the right to "manipulate" goes out at one point and at another point a player can start choosing between 1 or 2 dice when "manipulating." [illegible word crossed out] The rule for buying stock in a turn was as follows: a player could first buy any stock he wished one share of stock - in any company a company of his choice. Then he could buy as many shares of a stock as he already had in any or all companies. This seemed to be confusing and Claude was thinking of simply limiting a purchase to any 4 shares, I suggested instead allowing matching the stocks already held but always allowing 1 to be purchased in any stock.

The game played well. (I won).

Played JUNGLE RACE. The back arrows were constantly being used and the game was slow. Decided to ignore the arrows (and later removed them) and that was better, but still slow. BB said she had trouble following the paths - which I had marked in with 16" wide mystic tape.
