SUNDAY NEXT BEFORE ADVENT - 331ST DAY - 35 DAYS TO COME

To Cambridge with BB for visit with Don Turnbull. He picked us up at the railroad station soon after returning from the AHIKS meeting in Bath. He introduced TRIPPPLES at the meeting and it was popular. Pam liked it too.

Told Don my rules for 2-hand SLEUTH.

Don had 3 games he thought I might not know [illegible word crossed out]: -
THE WARLORD - Told him I had it and that I was waiting for a word on price, etc. before reviewing it. He'll tell the people to contact me.
BATTLE ROYALE - was pretty sure I had it but since he had 2 sets of rules I took one. (I do have it.)
TAXI - thought I had some info on it. (Found I have it.)

We spoke about ELEUSIS. I told him about DELPHI and promised to send him a repro [reproduction] of the riles. I'll also send him the material on the THE CITIES GAME that came from the magazine, since I now have the boxed version.

He wanted to pay me for the games I've been sending him. Only if I can pay for the copies of ALBION!

He gave me copies of no.19 thru [through] no. 26. Also a copy of no. 33 which he had on hand and didn't have to reproduce. The remaining ones he'll give to Omar when he visits to mail to me here.
No. 19 - Review of FLYING FORTRESS II.
No. 20 - DEPLOYMENT. Discussion of Don Miller's NFFF Games Bureau and the contents of THE GAMESMAN no. 1.
No. 21 - Discussion of the matrix CRT in KRIEGSPIEL. Review of KOREA.
Report on Issues no. 21 of S & T. A mention of WFF 'N PROOF and other games of the series.
No. 22 - Review of THE FLIGHT OF THE GOEBEN. Report on Issues no. 22 of S & T.
No. 23 - Review of TACTICAL GAME 14 and ANZIO BEACHEAD. Some DIPLOMACY rules interpretations.
No. 24 - More DIPLOMACY rule interpretations. Further review of TACTICAL GAME 14.
Another discussion of ABSTRACTION. Mention of CONFLICT, WARI, PHALANX, THE JUNGLE GAME, RIMAU-RIMAU, and BALYNA CRICKET.
No. 25 - Description of ABSTRACTION - but the loose map was missing.
Short reviews of CUBE FUSION and AVALANCE. Report on Issue no. 23 of S & T. Reviews of 1914 REVISION and TANNENBERG
No. 26 - Rule suggestions for AVALANCHE.
No. 33 - Article on creation of ABSTRACTION. Report on S & T no. 28. Mention of a game CLERVAUX which features Street Fighting.

Don didn't have an extra copy of no. 35 but I looked at it, at the game SQUARRUMS. It was simply the PENTOMINOS GAME as given in Martin Gardner's column, except that he told the readers to draw up a 12 x 12 field and to cut the polyominos out of another 12 x 12 sheet of cardboard. He (V.R. Parton, that is) didn't give the entire layout of the pieces, instead giving some sug- gested quadrominos, pentominos, and hexominos and then tell- ing the reader to set up their own.

Sunday TIMES had the following ads: HYPERCHECKERS and HYPERCHESS (The board shown is somewhat different than the one in the rules I (cont. on 11/25)
