Rcd. [received] check for $1360 for [illegible word crossed out] WOMAN'S DAY from Faucett Publications.
Rcd. [received] check for $50 from WASHINGTON POST.
Rcd. [received] an annual stockholder's report for I-Q and a dividend check for $1.40.
BB Deposited the three checks in Knickerbocker.

Called Bill Eckhart and told him about my new ideas for JUNGLE RACE. He didn't sound too enthusiastic but said to write them up and send, or bring, them in when I get back from London.

Finished the description of ACQUIRE, but still have to do the part on strategy - to bring it up to the required number of words.

the new rules. (He ran off three sets of duplicates and gave me one and the original back.) He read over the rules and thought they were much easier to follow now.

To Brentano's. Saw Alice McElhone demonstrating her brother's game TRIPPPLES and introduced myself. She thanked me a- gain for my S & T review. She had a blow-up of it posted there and she identified me as "the dean of game re- viewers."

I told her about bringing my copy of TRIPPPLES to England to the publishers of ALBION and GAMES & PUZZLES. Also its reception at the AHIKS convention. She gave me another copy and will send me another two. Told her there was no hurry.

Took some ad material she had, including a sample end game problem with green and red rings for trying it.

Told her that if I could get a copy of the BOOK WORLD column I would bring it back to her.

Spoke to Dorothy Shapiro, who was busy behind the counter, for a moment. She said she'd like to talk to me and I'll call after the holidays to set up a date.

Took a Brentano's catalog. The only things new to me were STRAT-O-MATIC BASEBALL (which actually I know from a few years ago), THE TAROTRUMP CARD GAME, SHAKE, RATTLE, AND ROLL, FIND THE WORD, ALICE IN WONDERLAND CARD GAME (reproduction), SHAKESPEARE GAME (reproduction). (Filed in '72 Misc.)

To WASHINGTON POST twice and had to wait for some time before Eve Auchincloss came back and I talked to her. She had only one copy of BOOK WORLD with my column. She'll call Washington and try to get my 20. She'll ask for two of them to be sent first class so that I can
