Called <u>Bill Eckhart</u> and told him about my new ideas
for <u>JUNGLE RACE</u>. He didn't sound too enthusiastic but
said to write them up and send, or bring, them in

the new rules. (He ran off three sets of duplicates and gave
me one and the original back.) He read over the rules and
thought they were much easier to follow now.
To Brentano's. Saw <u>Alice McElhone</u> demonstrating her brother's
game <u>TRIPPPLES</u> and introduced myself. She thanked me a-
gain for my <u>''S & T''</u> review. She had a blow-up of it posted
there and she identified me as "the dean of game re-
viewers." | |||
I told her about bringing my copy of <u>TRIPPPLES</u> to England
to the publishers of <u>''ALBION''</u> and <u>''GAMES & PUZZLES''</u>. Also
its reception at the AHIKS convention. She gave me another
copy and will send me another two. Told her there was no
hurry. | |||
Took some ad material she had, including a sample end
game problem with green and red rings for trying it.
Told her that if I could get a copy of the <u>''BOOK WORLD''</u>
column I would bring it back to her.
Spoke to <u>Dorothy Shapiro</u>, who was busy behind the counter,
for a moment. She said she'd like to talk to me and I'll
call after the holidays to set up a date.
Took a Brentano's catalog. The only things new to me
were <u>STRAT-O-MATIC BASEBALL</u> (which actually I know from a
few years ago), <u>THE TAROTRUMP CARD GAME</u>, <u>SHAKE, RATTLE, AND ROLL</u>,
<u>FIND THE WORD</u>, <u>ALICE IN WONDERLAND CARD GAME</u> (reproduction),
<u>SHAKESPEARE GAME</u> (reproduction). (Filed in '72 Misc.)
To <u>''WASHINGTON POST''</u> twice and had to wait for some time
before <u>Eve Auchincloss</u> came back and I talked to her. She
had only one copy of <u>''BOOK WORLD''</u> with my column. She'll
call Washington and try to get my 20. She'll ask for
two of them to be sent first class so that I can
