Rcd. [received] check from <u>Tom Atwater</u> for $35.90 for 3rd quarter
royalties on <u>ODD OR EVEN</u>, <u>TEMPO</u>, and <u>INTERPLAY</u>. <u>TRANSFORMATION</u>
earned $10.67 against the advance.
Note from Tom that <u>DOZO</u> sold 1,660 units in the quarter,
and maybe <u>TRANSFORMATION</u> will pick up.
Rcd. a letter from <u>James M. Henle</u>, and <u>AGOG</u> reader - but who
got my address from <u>Martin Gardner</u>. Sent me a descrip-
tion of two of his games - <u>PETER'S GAME</u> and <u>PINCH</u> (which
I saw thru [through] Martin). He wanted advice on marketing his
games; he had 10 or 11 <u>GAMES</u>.
He is a teacher and has shown <u>SKEDOODLE</u>, <u>NETWORK</u>,
<u>BOWLING SOLITAIRE</u>, <u>HOLD THE LINE</u>, and [illegible word crossed out] <u>LAST WORD</u> to
his students - "and all have been received with promise.
Rcd. [received] a clipping from <u>Harry Ferber</u> (in a letter to BB) from <s>the</s>
<u>THE JAPAN TIMES</u>. Had picture and material on <u>ACQUIRE</u>, <u>TWIXT</u>
and a third - unidentified - game. (The clipping dated 10/18/72 -
but filed in 1972 misc.)
Sent a resumé, updated from the one I prepared for Fay
Baker, and one of the pictures Dana took for the book
jacket to Pam Ferguson of "What's My Line?"
Looked at <u>ECCENTRIC</u> with the thought of calling the co-inven-
ter [co-inventor]. But it is a straight steal from <u>CLUE</u>.
Call from <u>Felicia</u>. She was contacted by <u>Anatole Holt</u>. He
wants to come to N.Y. and talk to her for some two <s>hour</s>
hours about his games <u>MEM</u> and <u>HAGGLE</u> - concerning her
handling them and discussing same changes in them. He also
suggested other game experts sitting in. Felicia asked if I
would be willing to join in. Sure. She'll tell him that the fee
will we $100 (which we'll split - at first she was thinking
of asking $200 - but that is high she realized) She'll write
him and set it up if he agrees to the fee.
She has the rules of <s>the</s> an educational <u>GAME</u> (about 12 pages)
which she'll show me when I come in.
Hallmark sent back <u>Kaplan</u>'s <u>TACTICS</u> puzzle saying they solved all
of the parts in 20 minutes. (see 8/25) Kaplan contacted them
telling them - among other things - that it would take me a
long time to do the last part. <u>Bob Johnson</u> who hadn't tried
it himself, agreed to look at it again.
There is no word on <u>FOCUS</u>. They are hiring new people to
work on their Game and Puzzle program.
<u>BALI</u> royalties held up pretty well.
She asked and I told her that it looked quite encouraging for
<u>JUNGLE RACE</u> and <u>VIEWLINE</u> (she liked the name).
She asked if I would bring up the matter of her client's
educational device using view-master (in general since I
