Blocked out the diagrams for <u>AIR BATTLE</u>, <u>WILDCAT</u>,
and <u>SWORDSMAN</u> (<u>TOURNEY</u>) but didn't make
finished boards.
Worked out a letter arrangement for <u>TAKE-A-WORD</u>
on a 8 x 6 layout instead of a 6 x 6. Made a board and
a set of letters.
Played with BB and the <u>Saperstein</u>s in the evening. BB
and Phylis liked it a lot. I beat Phylis out by 3 points.

each letter put down, according to the value in the
space. Until the word is completed the letters do not have
to complete a word, as long as the player has a word in
mind, and of course if different letters come up the
word can be continually changed.
Rcd. [received] a letter from <u>Rose Wilson</u> of NEO Press. Also a
(duplicate) of a "Supplement on <u>POLY-Y</u>."
Called <u>Claude</u>. He said we'll play his new game <u>WHITE ELEPHANTS</u>
this Thursday evening. He suggested a NYGA meeting
and we agreed on Thurs. [Thursday] Nov. [November] 2 or Fri. [Friday] Nov. 3, probably
at Arthur's.
Called <u>Arthur</u>. His house will be fine. He'll check with <u>Wald</u>
and get back to me with their choice of the 2 days.
<u>Lil Grand</u> (our neighbor) was cleaning up her house and
brought over three game boards instead of throwing them away.
<u>SORRY</u>, <u>CLUE</u>, <u>PHILIP MARLOW DETECTIVE GAME</u>. There was a
spinner with the latter game and I added it to my set.
Looked at it briefly and saw there were cards with
circular holes into which secret inserts were placed. I think
a good <u>GAME</u> could be worked out on this mechanism.

Stan now has a very small apartment near 42nd St. (telephone -
[telephone number]). He also has an office (<u>Stanley Chess</u>
[address])
I'll drop in when I'm around there and he'll show me
the proto-type of the magazine.
He has a good relationship with <u>John Scarne</u>. He has a game
<u>SCARNE BACCARAT</u> which has been adopted by a number of
casinos in the Carribean [Caribbean]. It looks like it will be started in
Vegas [Las Vegas]. It is a combination of <u>BACARAT</u> and <u>BLACK JACK</u>
