13 FRIDAY - OCTOBER 1972 | |||
<br>287TH DAY - 79 DAYS TO COME | |||
---- | |||
Drew the new diagram for <u>JUNGLE RACE</u>. To Boston Rd. | |||
for [illegible word crossed out] repros. [reproductions] To post office and sent | |||
a copy of <u>''S & T''</u> no. 32 to <u>Rose Wilson</u> of Neo Press. | |||
Rcd. [received] a letter from <u>Graeme Levin</u>. Mentioned my column in | |||
<u>''G & P''</u>, my article on <u>ACQUIRE</u>, <u>COMBINATION</u> will probably | |||
be in no. 9, his agenting for <u>''AGOG''</u> and my games. | |||
Rcd. [received] <u>MIDGARD</u> Forum no. 3. | |||
To G.A.F. bringing the new rules for <u>JUNGLE RACE</u> to <u>Bill Eckhart</u>. | |||
He read them and found them much easier to <s>Follow</s> <u>follow</u>. | |||
He also had Mike (?) read them with the same results. He | |||
had a new model of the board with stylized animals in | |||
three different sizes, one behind the other. The corners were | |||
marked "Lion's Den", etc. and I suggested "Yellow Camp" in- | |||
stead. | |||
Both <u>JUNGLE RACE</u> and <u>VIEWLINE</u> have been seen by top | |||
management. The latter was very well received. The former | |||
was also liked, but they complained about the rules. | |||
Bill said I'd probably have "2 out of 4" of their new | |||
games for introduction at Toy Fair. The final answer | |||
should come in about 2 weeks. I asked about my doing more | |||
games and he said they'd certainly like to look at anything I | |||
came up with, altho [although] chances are it would have to be for 1974. From | |||
now on they want things that would be difficult (if not im- | |||
possible) to play with equipment other than View-Masters. Some of | |||
the other things they are looking at approach this. | |||
To Chambers St. At 2nd hand book and magazine store | |||
bought <u>''ABOTT'S NEW CARD GAMES''</u> (a spare hardcover for future | |||
trading), <u>''PLAYING WITH WORDS''</u>, <u>''THE MYSTERIOUS FLEXAGONS''</u>. <br> | |||
At Job Lot bought 40 more plastic boxes at 5¢ each. And a | |||
large container of glue. | |||
<u>Jack Davis</u> called while I was out. I'm to call him Monday. | |||
<u>Phil</u> had message <s>that</s> from <u>Jim Dunnigan</u> that my <u>''S & T''</u> column is | |||
due on the 14th. | |||

<u>Scarne</u> is also <s>camp</s> coming out with <u>SCARNE 3000</u>, | |||
which <u>Stan</u> thinks is a $3 version of <u>SCARNE DICE</u>. | |||
He is also having a book published which is a | |||
collection of games. Stan says there will be some new | |||
<u>CANASTA</u> variations and <u>SCARNE RUMMY</u>. | |||
