287TH DAY - 79 DAYS TO COME

----
Drew the new diagram for JUNGLE RACE. To Boston Rd.
for [illegible word crossed out] repros. [reproductions] To post office and sent
a copy of S & T no. 32 to Rose Wilson of Neo Press.
Rcd. [received] a letter from Graeme Levin. Mentioned my column in
G & P, my article on ACQUIRE, COMBINATION will probably
be in no. 9, his agenting for AGOG and my games.
Rcd. [received] MIDGARD Forum no. 3.
To G.A.F. bringing the new rules for JUNGLE RACE to Bill Eck-
hart. He read them and found them much easier to <s>Follow</s> follow.
He also had Mike (?) read them with the same results. He
had a new model of the board with stylized animals in
three different sizes, one behind the other. The corners were
marked "Lion's Den", etc. and I suggested "Yellow Camp" in-
stead.
Both JUNGLE RACE and VIEWLINE have been seen by top
management. The latter was very well received. The former
was also liked, but they complained about the rules.
Bill said I'd probably have "2 out of 4" of their new
games for introduction at Toy Fair. The final answer
should come in about 2 weeks. I asked about my doing more
games and he said they'd certainly like to look at anything I
came up with, altho [although] chances are it would have to be for 1974. From
now on they want things that would be difficult (if not im-
possible) to play with equipment other than View-Masters. Some of
the other things they are looking at approach this.
To Chambers St. At 2nd hand book and magazine store
bought ABOTT'S NEW CARD GAMES (a spare hardcover for future
trading), PLAYING WITH WORDS, THE MYSTERIOUS FLEXAGONS.
At Job Lot bought 40 more plastic boxes at 5¢ each. And a
large container of glue.
Jack Davis called while I was out. I'm to call him Monday.
Phil had message <s>that</s> from Jim Dunnigan that my S & T column is
due on the 14th.

Scarne is also <s>camp</s> coming out with SCARNE 3000,
which Stan thinks is a $3 version of SCARNE DICE.
He is also having a book published which is a
collection of games. Stan says there will be some new
CANASTA variations and SCARNE RUMMY.
