11 WEDNESDAY - OCTOBER 1972
<br>285TH DAY - 81 DAYS TO COME

----
Rcd. [received] a call from <u>Bob McCumber</u> of 3M publicity
[phone number]. He was contacted by <u>David Elsner</u> who works at
the Chicago Bureau of the <u>''WALL STREET JOURNAL''</u>. He is inter-
ested in a front page piece on game inventors. McCumber told
Elsner about me and gave him my number. He thinks I will be
hearing from him. Told <s>him</s> McCumber I'd let him know if I do
get contacted.
After 5 called <u>Mrs. Rose Wilson</u> of NEO Press. Thanked her for
the <u>Y</u> and <u>POLY-Y</u> material she sent and apologized for not
writing for so long. Asked her to tell Chuck Titus I would be writ-
ing to him about <u>PSYCHE-PATHS</u>. <br>
Told her of my column in <u>''S & T''</u> and possible one in <u>''BOOK WORLD''</u>.
The book <u>MUDCRACK Y</u> is still being sold at $1.50, post paid-
together with a supplement on <u>POLY-Y</u> and Vol. 1 of <u>''Y NEWSLETTER''</u>
(the only one so far). <br>
The set of 3 boards and two containers of stones for <u>MUDCRACK Y</u>
and <u>POLY-Y</u> sells for $10 east of the Mississippi River and
$10.80 west - both post paid. <br>
She said she'd like to subscribe to <u>''S & T''</u>. I told her I'd send her
a copy to see if she likes it. <br>
I thought that I didn't have the <u>POLY-Y</u> supplement and she's
sending me one. (later I discovered I had it.)
Called <u>Bill Eckhart</u> in Portland, [illegible word crossed out] after working on <u>JUNGLE RACE</u> and
deciding that the animals on the board should be boxed, with
the boxes behind each other. Arranged with Bill to bring in a
new set of rules on Friday at 3. (His number in Portland -
[phone number].) He said, in answer to my question, that <u>VIEWLINE</u> was
well received.
<u>Claude</u> called. He visited <u>Earl</u> in Albany. Aparantly [apparently] Earl didn't
received my letter returning the card of the fellow interested
in the insurance <u>GAME</u>. I'll have to write to him after the
<u>Richter</u>s visit. <br>
Claude and Earl were discussing making NYGA a more formal
organization. Claude and I discussed it, with no definite con-
clusions.
Had an idea for a p. & p. <u>GAME</u>. There are 2 6x6 layouts on
the sheet with numbers in each box. There is also col-
umns, or some other layout, of numbers set up so that as
one player chooses one he frees one or more for the other
player. First to complete a line of 6 scores 1 point. First
to complete two lines scores 2 points, etc. (The scoring
idea I didn't use for <u>VIEWLINE</u>.)
