26 TUESDAY - SEPTEMBER 1972
270TH DAY - 96 DAYS TO COME

Rcd. [received] THE GAMESMAN #1 from Don Miller. Almost all of it is devoted to JETAN.

Called Red to ask him when my next S & T column is due. Middle of October or a little later.

While I was out Marvin Channing and Fay Hartog called. I'm to call Marvin tomorrow, and I'll have to call to clear up Fay's message.

SOLITAIRE DICE (I have to rewrite the rules. Carl said to simplify if nec- essary to shorten the rules), PLOT, COUNTERPOINT (his GO-MOKU variation; told him Whitman used the name), CROSSFIRE (HEX, which Phil discovered himself when trying to put BRIDGIT onto paper), WORDS FOR THE WISE, FRIDAY THE 13TH, NINE LIVES. (Told Phil that Ideal has a CROSSFIRE.)

With my six original my original six games they'll be able to get the 12 games they need for the 2 series. However, they'd love to have a Solitaire game, that is purely a Solitaire game. Phil said that we he was able to come up with competative [competitive] games, but not Solitaires. I said I'd work on one and later thought of an idea I called NO WAY.

Phil met Graeme Levin [illegible word crossed out] when Graeme visited Simulations. Jim was polite to Graeme, but terse. Phil spent some time with Graeme and they got along well. Phil may do some writing for GAMES & PUZZLES.

Phil suggested that we each take 45% of the proceeds from the p & p games. The remaining 10% will go partly to INFINITY-QUEST and partly to Fred Feucht to make up for his expenses on the project. I agreed, and suggested possibly giving a larger percentage to I-Q and Fred.

Rcd. call from Jerry D'Arcey, back from the hospital and feeling fine. He is thinking of going into manufacturing more seriously, with the idea of getting things started and then placing them with big companies, like he did with COUP D'ÉTAT.

Jerry has placed OH HELL (which some gal did) with Cadaco. While in the hospital he blocked out a book on the background of the game companies. His agent is interested in it. Told him that a similar one is in the works (Marvin Katz's) but none of the details. Told him that THE IMPUZZABLES would probably be in the December SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN.
